The Barn

As we were visiting Towton we looked for a B&B in the area and found The Barn. The reviews were excellent and we have to say our stay lived up to them. Very welcoming owners, comfortable bed, great breakfast and ideal location for visiting this area.

I’m currently trying to think of a reason to stay again 😁 One of the best nights sleep I’ve had in a while, and the quantity and quality of the breakfast was superb. Adrian and his wife had thought of everything - snacks, tissues, umbrella’s, face cloths. We also loved the area and really enjoyed a stroll to the local pub for an evening meal. Thanks again.

We discovered this little gem when looking for a stopover somewhere along the A1. It is a small but very special place, only a few rooms but they have been decorated very tastefully and the decor is beautiful and very fresh. The village is very pretty and we had an excellent meal at the Crown just a few metres away from the Barn. The bed at the Barn was lovely and big and very comfortable. There was a lovely selection of biscuits, crisps, teas, coffees etc. The hosts were very attentive and friendly. The breakfast was amazing. The couple have won awards for their breakfasts and you could see why. My husband ordered, as part of his breakfast, the fresh fruit. I didn't because i thought it would be a bit of chopped up apple and a bit of tinned fruit in an overly sweet syrup. However it was a beautifully arranged plate of two different types of melon, arranged in circle with lots of fresh berries and other fruits artfully arranged on the plate. We then had warm, flaky croissants, my husband went for the full English which he rates as excellent and I had scrambled eggs, with smoked salmon on toasted bagels. It was delicious but I couldn't eat it all but was offered a box to take away - it made a lovely lunch when I got home. As you can tell, I would thoroughly recommend the Barn.

You can’t fault this place, everything is just perfect. The room was bright and airy, the bathroom was spotlessly clean and the bed was super comfy. A very generous breakfast was provided. I will definitely return and couldn’t think of a nicer place to stay.

We stayed in room 4, and it was beautiful. The room was an excellent size and the en suite was also great. There was really nothing to fault about the room. I had a parking space directly outside the room, which was great. The hosts were very nice people, and the breakfast was excellent! I would highly recommend this hotel.

A colleague and I stayed here early July 2024 and were very impressed with the facilities and rooms - very clean, comfortable with plenty of finishing touches. Owners were friendly but not imposing and accommodating (particularly on our early Saturday breakfast). Looked at the previous reviews and the lower ranked ones seem quite petty - do not be put off - we'd certainly stay here again if in the area.
