Wild Glamping Gal Oya - Thema Collection

Sadly we only stayed here for 2 nights but what an amazing place. Its remote location means no phone service or internet which is great as you can really enjoy the peaceful surrounds without interruption. There's a small bar and restaurant area which overlooks the central pool where there are a number of loungers to relax if you have any down time in between activities. The tents are amazing with everything you need with a spacious outdoor bathroom that fits in well with the self sufficient ethos of the place (the bucket shower head was a nice touch). We stayed in no.17 which was away from the main building but had a great view from the patio area. The site has a small farm which grows all the produce used at the restaurant and has a number of paths you can wonder around as there are plenty of birds to see here. We did a morning jeep safari which was great with a riverside picnic for breakfast (thanks NavinduThilakasiri for the perfect location) followed by a boat safari late in the afternoon. The food here is amazing and plentiful, the staff are great too - always happy and always willing to help. We were sad to leave here as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can highly recommend it.

We spent two nights here, it was quite an experience. The accommodation was good for its type, the beds were comfortable and the room and bathroom were well equipped. The trips into the national park were very good, both the jeep ride and the boat trip on the lake. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The restaurant food was OK, but nothing special. The thing that spoiled the atmosphere was that people are allowed to smoke in the outdoor bar area which connects to the restaurant. This of course, affects other guests' enjoyment. It seems out of step with a resort with organic and sustainable credentials.

We recently enjoyed a 2 night stay at Wild Glamping Gal Oya. The accommodation was very comfortable, the food delicious but what made our stay so memorable were the friendly staff. They were excellent. Our time at Gal Oya was action packed with land safaris and a boat safari. We were sorry that we did not stay longer to enjoy the beautiful pool, more of the tranquil surroundings and great hospitality.

A unique experience meeting the Veddah (The original tribe of Sri Lanka before the people from India and Tamils Nadhu arrived.) The glamping was fun too and facilities excellent. Friendly helpful staff too and good park rangers provided Would really recommend

Best stay in the area! The staff members are all extremely kind, warm and welcoming, making sure nothing is missing. We have been staying for only two days but the experience is definitely something worth having. Sleeping surrounded by nature at night is something that is very unique, especially if you come from the city. The available activities and outings are definitely worth the price and the staff is extremely helpful with the choices to make. On top of all this the pool is amazing and the massages are the best you can get! Props to everyone for the organisation of the place.
