Mirissa Reef Serenity

When we arrived no welcome drink in the hot small lobby. The room looks much better on the webside. The location is on the beach but no sun umbrellas with 30 degrees in the sun. In front of the "garden" where the sun loungers are there is a dive center and some beach boys hand there all day long watching you. The positive side : beds were good quality and aircon was fine as well as the breakfast choice. The location is quite so no noise from the street. For dinner you have to go out to the city center with lot of choices. Bathroom had mold on the ceiling. Outdoor sitting was nice. To conclude for the price of the room I expected more comfort. There are better choices in Mirissa.

We really enjoyed this hotel. We almost didn’t stay here because it didn’t have a pool, but we were really glad we did because value for money was great, the rooms are great, the service was great and the location was great. Breakfast was included, towels were available to take to the beach at no extra cost, as well as snorkels. Cleaning service was excellent, staff communication via WhatsApp was readily available, and the hotel was quiet and peaceful. Beds were comfy, shower was hot, air con was good. Free filtered water provided in rooms with a fridge, nice balcony, safe included, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. Plug sockets took U.K. plugs which was helpful. Although there is no pool, the hotel is right on the beach. The waves were quite choppy so we didn’t swim in the sea right outside but you can walk or drive to other beaches easily and it’s fine if you only want to sunbathe. It’s about a 20 minute walk to restaurants, shops and bars which can be a lot in the heat but it’s not difficult to get a tuk tuk at reasonable prices, although we had a driver ourselves. Breakfast was a small menu but quick and good.

We had an amazing stay at Reef Serenity. The rooms are immaculate and the secluded beach and pool are special. Mostly the hospitality of David, Gaul and the staff really made the stay, taking a huge amount of stress away and making us really feel at home. Cannot recommend enough.
