Note, that the review is based on the economy room on the first floor, hence largely the negatives are connected to that, the rooms on the second floor might not have these problems. The room and bathroom, same as whole hotel are clean, rooms are quite atmospheric. My room had a view into a dark inner court, which was not a problem, I knew that beforehand. The problem was that on the second night there was an onslaught of mosquitoes. Windows were open all the time as there was no AC, only an electric fan and nobody has warned about the mosquitoes, so I had an unpleasant night. And yes, do not forget earplugs, it is noisy there: dogs and music from the neighbourhood. Water in the bathroom was almost OK though it did took time to warm which meant wasting it. Breakfast was OK, especially that it was coupled with a fantastic view from the terrace. Service was fine, though not falling over their heads to be helpful, especially when compared with other places I stayed in Cape Verde. And finally – the location: it is fine, close to the centre, though some walking uphill when coming from downtown. Not good idea to walk later in the evening (was warned by the locals, though not at the hotel). Also note, that there are lots of stairs at the hotel to carry your luggage.
