Villa Pomme d'Or

This very pleasant guest house is more like a European villa than the more traditional Moroccan Riad. It has a large, airy, interior surrounded by very pleasant en suite rooms. Outside is a very welcoming and well kept pool. We ate in and had a very good meal served by a polite and informative waiter. This is a very pleasant place to stay if you are heading for the desert.

There's not a lot around this town. It is probably the nicest hotel in the area. The property is very secure and you have to ring the doorbell any time you want to go back in. The room I got which was the largest room available was very cosy. It is like a bed and breakfast. Very very large with a separate living room, bedroom and bathroom. The problem was the water in the bathroom sink. Strangely when you turned the tap on for a while, the water would accumulate and the drain looked stuck. It took a while for them to fix it and I had to leave the room for an hr or so before it was fixed. It still wasn't really fixed and the water took ages to become hot. It was a very cold December evening but they have heating in every room but it wasn't too warm. I had to sleep with a lot of clothes on! Bear in mind there are no lifts so if you have heavy luggage like me, you can't go and stay in the upper floors. I am not sure there's a better option in town. This is it!

As we were stopping over on our way to Merzouga, our expectations were relatively simple. The service was excellent, from arrival and dinner to a washed car in the morning. The dinner was delicious, rich, not to say too much for two grown men. We had a similar experience at breakfast, which was also very tasty. Despite the shortness of our stay, a short walk through the village was fascinating and brought us a little closer to the life of the people here. Thank you so much for this unique accommodation!

We had high expectations with this place being so well rated and even star listed in lonely planet but our family were at a loss to see what people were so impressed by. Our welcome was warm but not exceptional. The room was very dated, our 10 year old brought the bags to the room with my husband while my daughter and I finished our tea. Our 10 year old said to our 7 year old, you won’t like it. I asked why and he just said you will see.. He was right, it was dark, no window in the main room with heavy interior curtains and other fabrics. It was a step back in time and the walls were cracked and had flaking paint. Just not anything we would get excited about. The upside was it was clean and very spacious. The location in the town is quiet but walkable to the central area. Parking outside monitored on cctv. The pool looks good but unfortunately we didn’t have time to try it or breakfast. Our car was washed for us in the morning but having just picked up the rental the day before it was clean already. It’s a nice touch but for us we felt we had to tip for something we didn’t need. This place is perfectly fine for a stop over but certainly not the highlight of our trip!

Interesting home with great hospitality nice rooms & surprisingly good restaurant offerings at an affordable price. Elegant pool & garden area—a bit cool outside air temperature discouraged us from trying it out. Safe area, wonderful fruit offerings. Omelettes for breakfast!

The villa is in a quiet little street.It looks from the outside like a Tuscany villa with the nice gardens and the swimming pool area and inside it is decorated like a palace from the tales of Arabian nights.the rooms are big and comfortable and we had dinner which was delicious.The hosts are very friendly

We enjoyed our night here. The hotel is "quaint" (as another traveler said) but everything worked fine for us. One great area is the dining room which is beautifully decorated with tapestries and rugs. They lit a fire since it almost snowed. They did cook for us and the food was very good. Very cozy.

Very friendly & helpful with security. Easy to find, welcoming with hot tea. Big room, old decor which is not to our taste, bed had clean sheets, shower was hot with clean towels. Dinner was offered (clearly from outside cafe) as was not hot, otherwise edible & we were the only guests so did not expect them to cook. We were awake to check vehicle through the night and discovered huge ants roaming around the room .. not so nice! Requested breakfast for 07:30 but no one showed up at reception until then so we departed without breakfast leaving over payment on desk.

Une superbe villa d’allure ancienne garnie de nombreux meubles et bibelots anciens. Excellent accueil. Chambre superbe. Bonne literie. Très belle salle de bain. Avec de confortables peignoirs. Repas pris sur place le soir. Excellent. Copieux. Et assez fin. Prix contenus. Belle piscine agréable. Quoique non chauffée. Surveillée par 2 cigognes juste au dessus. Seules 2 petites ombres : un wifi de petite qualité. Avec peu de débit. Et aucune chaîne disponible sur les 2 écrans dans la chambre et son salon. Dommage.
