La Dolce Vita Hotel

We stayed in mid May so the air conditioning was off. This would not have been a problem except that the hotel is in the second floor right next to a busy road. We had to keep the windows open since the temperature was warmer and the sounds of the cars and trucks kept rousing me awake. The room itself was clean and modern and new.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights, having come in by train from the West. The location of the hotel is just unbeatable, including their own lovely fine-sand swimming beach and bar just across the seaside street. The many sights of beautiful Menton are within a brisk walking distance, and one can pull the suitcase on rollers to the SNCF railway station uptown (walking through the pedestrian trail of the mountain tunnel) in 25-30 minutes. Our room was very good indeed and had a truly spectacular own sea-view balcony great for preparing to dinner after a busy day on sightseeing and swimming. The only downside to the hotel (that keeps us from giving full score of 5/5) were the morning busy issues of the single staff member to attend both the counter and replenish breakfast items & coffee machine at the same time.

Best part is the free parking outside. The entire street seems to be free, acc to the hotel. We spent one night and enjoyed it. Breakfast is cheap but adequate. The view of the sea view room is obstructed by a tree!!! We nearly asked for a refund. But it was OK for one night.

We booked this hotel well in advance of our stay in July 2022 and therefore secured a very reasonable price compared to other hotels. It is a 3 star hotel. Next door is a 4 star as it has a pool. Location is very good. 10 min walk from beach and 1km from Italy. Menton Garavan station is 0.4 of a mile away. Handy for train to Nice airport. On arrival the Air Conditioning at reception was very welcome. Our room upon first impressions was tiny. Having said that and upon reflection it was of a very good decorative standard. A safe was available as was a mini bar (useful to chill own water bottles). Bed very comfortable and air conditioning available which we used all the time. Bathroom had a walk in shower, toilet, sink and bidet and again of a high standard. Toiletries were provided and rooms cleaned daily and towels swapped the left on floor as requested. An electric shut out blind was useful to the patio that led out to our extremely large balcony that has a table and 2 chairs. Not sure every room had a balcony. We were room 201. To be honest after a day or two the size of the room didn't matter. We only slept there. A TV was available. The only English speaking channel was CNN and German Eurosport was available to. Now the issue I had: Menton is on the coast and surrounded by mountains so when we were told Wifi was available I was pleased. However this only worked every now and again. Not really reliable and no way to tell when it would work or not. I spoke to reception about this and was told to use another wifi name. I did but same situation. I do not hold the hotel responsible for this. However, it would not have been a frustration except that I couldn't get a phone signal either. Again not the hotels fault. Bit if Wifi/4G is important to your stay you have been warned. A very nice stay in a very clean hotel.

The hotel is part of a shared building and has air conditioning that is not under their control. We were firstly told it doesn’t come on until 15th June and then that it was broken. It is unbearably hot, our room is at the front of the building and the road outside is very busy even at 3am so if you leave the doors open you can’t sleep for the noise We stayed for six nights at the end of May, today is day 5 and of the four nights so far we have had one reasonable sleep. If we could check out and go somewhere else we would. It’s the Monaco Grand Prix weekend though so everywhere is full. Reception are very sorry but appear to have done little to resolve the situation there are no fans although there is a portable air conditioner running 24/7 downstairs to keep the office cool. There is a sign in the room saying that the temperature is centrally controlled so I’m not sure how useful it would be even if it was working.

Exceptionnel accueil,nous sommes tombés en panne devant cet hôtel et le personnel a été d une gentillesse extrême. A conseiller ça change de ceux qui veulent notre argent et ne se préoccupe pas beaucoup de leurs clients. Merci beaucoup pour votre humanité si rare à ces temps.

L accueil aucune bienveillance.. la salle de bain salle avec encore des poiles et cheveux .. lunette des toilettes cassé on ce pince la cuisse ... les murs de la chambre sale .. Le moteur de l' ascenseur fait un bruit horrible la nuit et pour finir par le petit dej à 20€ c est très très limité en choix

Pessima esperienza. La gentilezza e la cura del cliente non sono di casa al “la dolce vita di Mentone”. Molti gli aspetti che ci hanno lasciato a bocca aperta e non in senso positivo. Ne elenchiamo solo alcuni: camera di dubbio livello con vista (triste) su posteggio posteriore e senza aria condizionata. Pertanto, per sicurezza propria e dei bambini, nessuna possibilità di aprire le finestre di notte durante giornate e nottate di canicola. Stato della camera improponibile per 160 euro la notte (vedi foto). Le foto sul sito non rispecchiano per niente la camera familiare da noi ricevuta. Inoltre macchie di indefinibile causa sui muri. Sgridati (letteralmente) a più riprese dal personale per aver usato in modo sbagliato (tra l’altro non da noi) la macchina del caffè e per altri motivi altrettanti futili. Colazione povera e di scarsa qualità (yogurt caldo fuori dal frigorifero) brioche secche, ecc. abbiamo deciso di cambiare hotel dopo una notte e dovuto pregare per un minimo di risarcimento agli svariati disagi vissuti. Hanno acconsentito per uno sconto di soli 40€ facendoci comunque pagare anche la notte della quale non abbiamo usufruito. Unico lato positivo gentilezza e professionalità del personale di pulizia

Junior suite spaziosa ma sporca. Doccia con solo acqua bollente e alle rimostranze hanno detto che non potevano fare niente ( quindi problema non risolto). Personale gentile. Colazione nella norma senza infamia e senza lode. Unico vantaggio posizione fronte mare.
