Hart House Hotel

Truly excellent place to host a wedding, reunion, or other group lodging situation. Newells lounge was lovely in the evening and the Shirt Factory had a fantastic brunch. Staff was helpful. Parking can be a bit tricky if there are multiple parties happening, as overnight street parking is banned in the winter. We had a great experience and would return!

Stayed in the Hope Unit 4. Access was easy with the code that was texted. Room was so great. All the little touches made it seem like a high end hotel. Comfortable bedding, towels, great soaps. Provided so many extras in room - toothbrush, shaving kit, eye masks, ear plugs, shower cap, water in frig. At the top of stairs plenty of extra coffee pods, soaps, toothbrushes, razors, etc. Was a perfect place for a little getaway!

A lovely hotel in a beautiful and well maintained building. Nicely appointed loft with updated bathroom and kitchenette. Well designed, nice linens and very clean. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. We would definitely return!

We have made staying at Hart House an annual event! My siblings and I have been staying here since they opened, and couldn’t be more pleased with Andrew and staff, along with the excellent accommodations! So convenient to downtown strolling and shopping, and a stop at The Shirt Factory for a Craft Cocktail to end the day!

I stayed in the Astor Room at the Hart House on a bikepacking trip from May 26-May 27. While this room had an interesting design, it fell short in several key areas that made it impossible to get a good night's sleep. -The air conditioner was a separate unit that rests on the floor and was extremely loud all night long. Even though I set the fan part of the a/c to stay on consistently, it regularly turned itself on and off all night, which constantly had me wake up. My friend's room on the 2nd floor had central air conditioning that was very quiet and her room was much less expensive than mine. -The air conditioner was due for a filter change, as indicated on the light. Not a huge deal, but it makes me question the upkeep of the room overall. -The room had several windows with blinds, but the one above the bathtub (which is in the main room and not hidden behind a door) did not have blinds. It is located just a couple of feet from a window in another building that had a light on all night long. The light was extremely bright into my room at the Hart House and again, made it impossible to sleep. I used clothing hangers and spare towels to rig up a makeshift curtain, but it didn't help much. It feels neglectful that the owners failed to provide blinds on this window, considering they did so on the rest. -Bathtub water pressure was very low. -Overhead vent in the bathroom was coated in dust. Makes me question how regularly they're deep cleaning these rooms. My friend stayed at a much less expensive room down stairs that had none of these issues. I've expressed these concerns to the owners through their online feedback form last week, but they never responded, so I wanted to warn other travelers about the poor quality of the Astor Room. For a total of $190, this room was overpriced and left me wishing I had stayed anywhere else. Do yourself a favor and avoid it!

The hotel has character, but is not really ready to be the boutique hotel it wants to be. They call the furniture vintage, but it looks more like they got it from the street where someone was throwing it out. There was mold in my room and an exposed pipe had a hole in the ceiling over the bed. There is no one on staff there full time, so unless you’re lucky to see the manager there is no one to express concerns to until you call. They seem to be renovating one room at a time. There are ten rooms. The one we were in was not done yet. It is convenient to the village and has a coffee shop and bar. The hours that they are open are not posted. We had a room with a complete kitchen, yet I couldn’t see anyone staying in the hotel long term. There was a sink and shower in the bathroom, but no place to put makeup on. The bathroom had the only good mirror. Place needs work.
