Carpe Diem Casitas & Villas Mazunte

Great place to go if you’re looking to be caught in a scam. First of all, the place is located 10 min away from the beach, which is a bummer. You have to walk through a really steep dusty road to get to a beach that you cant even swim in. The owner told me that there was a construction finishing in the kitchen area, but that she would make up for it with a discount. Every morning we woke up with construction noise, and workers talking loudly, however since we had the discount we were ‘fine’ with it. It wasnt SO bad also because we had beautiful breakfast every morning which we thought was included -as it was CLEARLY printed in the room rules and was also implied by the owner. No one ever talked about breakfast prices. At the end of our stay, the ladies that work there told me that the breakfast fee had to be payed in cash. I was si surprised! I called the owner and told her that no one ever talked about the breakfast being extra, nor did we ever see a price list or a manu. Also, i sent her a picture of the room rules where it clearly stated that it was included. She THREATENED ME WITH CALLING THE POLICE AND SEIZE MY THINGS IF I DIS NOT PAY IN FULL. Obviously she didnt accept the mistake. We proceeded to pay because SHE WAS GOING TO CHARGE THE COST OF HER MISTAKE TO HER EMPLOYEES -sweet hard working people that had nothing to do with it. She told me that for breakfast to be included she had to charge the full price of the room; at the end of the day the discount was a bluff. We payed 150 dollars worth of breakfast for two days. Ridiculous.

We stayed only 3 nights at this outstanding and special place, we wished we could have stayed much and much longer. The rooms were just perfect, spacious, a balcony with hammocks and a (partly) outside bathroom with views to the stars! The staff was very attentive and incredibly welcoming. The three (!!) pools were very relaxing and the food was great too! Despite a hurricane only 4 weeks before our arrival the staff did a tremendous job to recover this place back its original charm.

La verdad supero nuestras expectativas, es mucho más bonito en persona que en fotos. La atención es impecable. Tanto de los meseros, del bar, de la cocina y de la encargada. Ya queremos volver. Se los súper recomiendo

El lugar, el conforte y el personal son increíbles. La vista maravillosa. La comida. Las piscinas. Todo está perfecto !! La casas son súper luxurious, grandes y perfectas ! Muchas gracias y nos vemos pronto

Estuvimos una larga estancia de casi 2 meses, pagada por anticipado. Nos dimos cuenta de que regaban con aguas negras y había niños gritando y ponen música diariamente desde las 8 hasta 10.30 pm, casi 15 horas y cuando nos quejamos, recibimos maltrato de la dueña, quien nos despertó a las 11.30 a gritos, abriendo nuestra habitación. Es la primera vez, como viajera mundial que recibio este maltrato.
