This was my third time visiting Cumaceba Lodge, and once again, the service was outstanding. Our group of 28 was treated with incredible care by the entire staff. From the moment we arrived, we felt safe, welcomed, and in good hands. The guides are true experts—they know the Amazon, its animals, and its communities deeply. Even with flooded areas, they kept us secure at all times. We visited the Yagua village and had a meaningful, interactive cultural experience that made everyone feel comfortable and engaged. We also had the chance to visit another village, their school, and an animal rescue center—all accessed by canoe due to the high waters, which made the adventure even more memorable. The food at the lodge was delicious, and the prices were more than reasonable. Richard was in constant communication throughout the planning and booking process, always attentive to our group’s needs. Yes—you will find ants, mosquitoes, and bugs... hello, you're in the Amazon! But you’ll also hear the songs of birds, feel the magic of the rain, and enjoy the deep peace of being off the grid for a few days. The nighttime tour was epic—the kids spotted a baby caiman! And while sailing the Amazon River, we even saw pink dolphins. Some rooms are newer or in better condition than others, but it's clear they are making upgrades and building more. I absolutely recommend Cumaceba Lodge and would happily return with another group. It’s a place to connect, learn, and fall in love with the Amazon.
