Solana Beach Mauritius - Adults Only

We had a wonderful time at Solana Beach. The service was excellent and the rooms very neat and clean. The view is absolutely amazing and the food was delicious. I would recommend this for anyone!! We would definitely go back next year!!

Very good holel at the wonderful place

Apart from the view from the room and access to a semi private beach, there is nothing good to say about this place. The hotel exterior is good, spacious and has ample greenery but the rooms are old, dilapidated, deprived of regular maintenance. The toilet and wash basin were overflowing couple of times in our short stay of 4 days. While some of the staffs are really polite and caring, most of the staffs (specifically in the bar and Polemo restaurant) are rude and lack basic knowledge of hospitality. Upon check in the lady in the reception would try to sweet talk you to buy their out of the world expensive food package. They charge exorbitant prices for very basic and minimal food. Buy water bottles from outside, they give only 2 500 ml water bottles per day and charge 175 MUR for 1L bottles. In super market you would get 1L water bottles for 20 MUR. Buffet doesn’t have much variety and food options outside of the buffet package is extremely limited to 10-12 items. So do yourself a favour and skip this resort. PS: I must appreciate some of the hard working and caring staffs there. The complimentary beach activities are very good. The beach and see are a treat to watch. But all these good things you will get in other hotels too. So in my opinion it is not worth ruining your vacation.

I recently stayed at the Solana Beach Resort during my trip to Mauritius and wanted to share a balanced look at the highlights and a couple of unexpected drawbacks of my stay. The Highlights: Comfort & Tranquility The Room: We stayed in the Junior Suite Sea View, and it did not disappoint. The room was incredibly spacious, clean, and came equipped with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. Wake up to the sea view was a major plus. Location: Situated near Belle Mare on the eastern coast of Mauritius, the resort is in a very calm, quiet, and peaceful area. If you are looking to disconnect and relax, this location is ideal. Activities & Amenities: The resort has its own spa and offers fantastic sea excursions right from the property. We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary water activities, including the glass-bottom boat, snorkeling, and paddle boating. The Food & Restaurants: The dining options were a definite highlight of our stay. The main restaurant, Cinnamon, serves an overall good buffet for both breakfast and dinner, featuring a great variety of multiple cuisines including Mauritian, Indian, and Western dishes. Additionally, the resort features another on-property restaurant focused on fine dining that serves excellent Italian cuisine. The Drawbacks: Isolation & Nickle-and-Diming Quiet Nights: Because the resort is far from the main city centers, there is absolutely no local market or nightlife/entertainment nearby. Once the sun goes down, the property becomes very silent. This is perfect for couples or relaxation, but worth noting if you prefer a bit of evening energy. The Water Policy (A Major Disappointment): This was the biggest letdown of our stay. The resort provides 2 complimentary bottles of water daily, but charges for any extra bottles you need in the room. Worse yet, water is chargeable during dinner. Having traveled to almost 40+ countries, this is the very first time I have ever encountered a resort charging for standard table water during a dinner service. For a resort of this caliber, charging for basic drinking water feels incredibly cheap and dampens the overall guest experience.

I had a pleasant stay at the Solana. The service is amazing, the staff will be checking on you at least twice a day. I appreciate the surprise on my birthday. The cake was delicious. I thought I will pass incognito as I didn’t travel with my friends this time.

Solana is in a good location with beautiful views and the staff are friendly. You can literally snorkel infront of the resort. Food was excellent and drinks good. You get bare basics amenities in your room. My room had uncomfortable chairs outside but I saw some of the other rooms had comfortable chairs on their balconies. They come in and out of your room a few times that I feel is unnecessary, things that can be done in one go (clean, refill minibar, bring towels, ask how your stay is). They can change a few things but overall I had a good stay at Solana.
