Hotel Pet Friendly di Marseille

The location is very good. The front of the hotel faces the old port, and the entrance is at the back. European style, old but not outdated, clean and tidy, the room is not big, two large suitcases are no problem, but the shower is a bit slow. Breakfast is OK, not many varieties but acceptable. You can see the scenery of the old port by the window. The service is also very good, very friendly. Leave for the airport at 6:30, breakfast starts at 6:30. We communicated the day before and arrived 15 minutes earlier, made coffee, and reminded us to make sandwiches to take with us. Overall satisfied, recommended to stay.

M****ille was the first stop we went in our trip. Hotel has a great location as it is just opposite to the train station. However, our room had a very sticky smell and we found out the smell came from our toilet. Also the air-conditioner wasn’t really functional so we opened our window to get fresh and cooler air circulation. The free breakfast was good.

Good experience with this beautiful palace we wanted a bathtub and we just get a shower .. but otherwise it was a pretty good experience.

The front desk staff has good English and can communicate smoothly. The breakfast is quite rich. The facilities are very new. Very comfortable.

The hotel front desk lacked professionalism. Although I had already paid on the platform, the front desk deducted the money repeatedly during checkout, and later recovered it through the platform.

L’ascensore un po’ matto finché ero lì, secondo me lo specchio riflette sulle fotocellule e continua a riaprire le porte. Ma anche se questo prontissimi nel risolvere la questione. We stayed in Sofitel Marseille for 3 nights in the summer of 2023. The hotel is located right on the periphery of the old port of Marseille where all the shops and restaurants are located. It takes about a 15-minute walk to get from the hotel all the way to the centre of the old port so the hotel is fairly insulated from the hustle and bustle of the old port. The exterior of the hotel looks a bit dated but the interiors feel very fresh, clean and bright. We upgraded our room to a deluxe room facing the old port at the reception and we thought it was worth it. We never tired of waking up to a view of the old port with a clear blue sky. The room itself was quite clean and spacious. There was enough room to open up two luggages and still move around comfortably. There is also a turn down service where the staff will put out the bedroom slippers and play some nice Jazz music when you come back. The bed was nice and comfortable and the pillows were fluffy. The only complaint we had was that the air conditioning would turn off in the middle of the night. The air conditioning control did not seem to work and it seems like the air conditioning is centrally controlled so the in-room controls did nothing. I could not sleep the first night as it was too warm and stuffy so we asked for a ventilateur (fan) the next day. That helped us to sleep better. Obviously, if you are planning to stay during the winter months then the heat at night should not be an issue. The staff at the reception were always pleasant, warm, friendly and polite. We were upsold the room with a view when we checked in so that should say something about how friendly the staff were. It was EUR70 per night for the room with a view and it included overnight parking (EUR27 per night) so it was really only about EUR50 extra per night. The valet and the concierge were all very helpful and nice and they all speak English well enough. If you intend to park here, do note that the roads within the hotel property can be quite narrow and the parking lots are quite narrow as well. It may be worthwhile getting the valet to help you park your car at least for the first day because driving from the car rental agencies at the Marseille train station to the hotel was stressful enough for us. We paid around EUR300 - 350 a night but we thought it was worth it and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

We booked an apartment, located on the main shopping street of the Old Port, very convenient for shopping and restaurants. The apartment is decorated in the Southern French style that I like, with a small kitchen and tableware (the tableware is also in the Southern French style~I love it) Suitable for those who want to slow down and experience the style of Marseille

The location is great. The window is right next to the Old Port of Marseille, and you can see the whole view of the Old Port of Marseille. The hotel lobby lounge is quite spacious and there is a mini gym on the second floor. There are balconies above the 3rd floor, and the rooms are decorated in French style.

The rooms in Marseille are really small. The rooms from Paris to Lyon are quite big. This is probably where the tour groups stay. When I arrived, I saw a large bus. The smallest room on the way. You need to go around to the exclusive parking space under the nearby shopping mall parking lot to park. Go to the front desk to ask the location of the parking lot first. They will give you a map showing the location. The exclusive parking space is in the iron fence. After going around to the innermost part of the parking lot, you need to swipe the parking ticket to enter the parking lot. Remember to scan this ticket at the front desk when you leave the hotel. The parking fee is 20 euros per night. In addition, when I went there, the elevator from the parking garage to the hotel was broken. I could only go around the mall to the hotel. There is a hamburger restaurant next to the hotel. I ate it once and it was really delicious. Marseille is really smelly and it doesn’t look safe. I don’t recommend going to Marseille. In fact, you can live directly in the nearby town. It’s also good. I highly recommend the town of Lourmarin. It’s very beautiful.
