Staff let strangers into your room. Scary. Unsafe. Filthy. Gross. Stayed at Otia for a total of 4-5 nights for work. My colleague and I had separate rooms and on 2 separate nights, strangers walked straight into our rooms around 2-3 am. The staff, particularly the people at reception, could not have cared less and seemed very disinterested that they let complete strangers into our rooms. We tested the locks, if someone has the card key, it opens the door even if you use the manual lock on the door. This seems to be a systemic issue. Look at the 1 star reviews, they are mostly single women who had people come into their rooms and/or have their things stolen. The safes also do not work so you cannot lock up your valuables. Saw some cockroaches as a bonus. The breakfast is abysmal and never ready by 7 am. Do not bother staying here as there are plenty of other options that will not let strangers into your room to steal your stuff or do other horrific things to you. They also forgot to replace towels, soap and toilet paper multiple days.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The room was exceptionally comfortable, and the food was both fresh and delicious. The hotel offers great amenities, including a steam room and sauna, which made for a relaxing stay. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive throughout my visit. The location is ideal, with the beach just a short distance away. One area for improvement would be the response time for replenishing towels and room supplies, which took longer than expected. However, this did not overshadow the overall positive experience. The hotel is truly beautiful, and the rooftop area is a standout feature. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of my stay, especially after reading some of the mixed reviews. It’s clear that not everything you read online tells the full story. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

This was my worst hotel experience ever. I almost had to call the police. Everything's wrong with it. They respect nothing and nobody. Always trying to cheat their clients. Foi a minha pior experiência de sempre em hotéis. Quase tive de chamar a polícia. Está tudo errado. Não respeitam nada, nem ninguém. Sempre a tentar enganar os clientes.

The rooms are nice and well appointed. However parking is very difficult and inconvenient. Hot water and internet aren’t consistent. We were traveling with 4 kids and they couldn’t get the television to work. Breakfast was good. Room is a nice size.

Sadly website didn’t mention all facilities not available. Two restaurants closed, a gym but completed, sauna not built, steam room not built. Limited drinks on La Meza menu. Great rooms and loads of potential just better communication on sites and also reduce rate to accommodate closed and unbuilt facilities

Excellent Hotel which is nicely located and a 2.5km casual walk past the embassies and consulates to the beach. Value for money hotel around considering what other hotels are charging for especially for business. Clean and professional hotel and restaurant serves excellent breakfast which is also strictly Halal ( no alcohol or pork ). The dinner menu is extensive and surprisingly good. Staff were excellent and always willing to help out with any issues. The hotel and restaurant managers were on top of their game whilst Yara , Felix , Maria at reception were efficient and professional. Check in was a breeze. There was a pool which was very inviting but I could not use due to my schedule. The gym was good and air-conditioned. The sauna was still being built as I think it is a new hotel. I will be booking here if available whenever i come to Maputo. Check it out you won't be disappointed. Some minor items to be upgraded like the wifi in the rooms and to replace tea cups with mugs.

We had such an exceptional stay at Otia Hotel. Stunning hotel with such friendly staff.Yara and Feliz greeted us at the reception and they were so efficient upon our our arrival. You won't go wrong by booking this hotel it's rated 3 star but 5 star service.Rooms are big and clean and the staff are just to kind and helpful.The breakfast was really nice.We met the manager Mr Faisel who is always available. Maria at the front desk . Bertha at the coffee shop was always nice and recommended what is nice to have. The only problem I encountered is that there was no Gluten Free things for me to have. Hopefully on my next visit they will introduce gf pastries and cakes. My husband really enjoyed all the delicious food that was prepared.

I suspect that I was targeted as a solo female traveler. I only stayed there for 2 nights and several items went missing in my suitcase during my stay there. The thief was very clever (I strongly suspect the cleaning person), things I left out on the table was not touched (work laptop, headphones, etc) as it would be very obvious to me. However, the thief took things packed inside my suitcase: a limited edition Apple Watch (which went online in Maputo long after I left), Go Pro 11, Airpods, sunglasses and I noticed this when I arrived at my next location. I messaged the hotel repeatedly about this over a month ago, but I get ZERO response from them at all. I understand that what one employee or burglar doesn't represent the whole hotel, however the lack of any response from hotel management is a hue red flag. Be mindful of your possessions, I don't think this is the only time this has happened.

Mau atendimento, recepcionista sem formação em atendimento ao cliente, Gerente não disponivel, 30 minutos em espera para fazer a reclamação e ninguém estave disponível para atender, livro de reclamações não disponível trancado na Direcção. Limpeza não boa. 09:30h foi probido o pequeno almoço mas no booking o horário do pequeno almoço vai até 10h.
