Thank you so much for the wonderful place and hospitality Daan and your staff, we enjoyed staying at Congo bongo. Best place we stayed! Dubai expensive hotels has no say to Congo bongo. Always dream of living in the jungle and this place amazed me so much with howler monkeys and birds you can hear everyday. 5-8 minutes walk to a private beautiful beach. We also had a wonderful adventure with the owner to see some land which is for sale in the area. He goes with us and had an amazing experiences. Will visit again soon! 100%

Wonderful, exceptional accommodation in the middle of the jungle. Very lovingly designed and well-equipped houses with an open kitchen. Experiencing the jungle up close was a unique experience. The owners are very nice and helpful and can always be reached via Whatsapp if you have any questions or need help. The whole complex is very well maintained and the beach was a 10 minute walk from our house along a woodland path lined with artwork. We loved it there.

Congo Bongo is the perfect blend of indoor/outdoor eco living. I loved listening to the dawn chorus of parrots, toucans and howler monkeys. This is a birding paradise! The hosts have created a village of houses separated by trees and shrubs that create habitat for wildlife. The hosts understand how to create a restorative place filled with beauty, art, respect for the land and welcoming for people. This is one of the best places I have ever stayed.

Amazing ecologically thoughtful coastal paradise! Beautiful plants all around you, including massive trees. Very comfortable, very private. Well appointed for all your needs, including cooking! Showers inside and outside. Perfect for coming back from the beach which is just minutes through the lush tropical forest. Great for birds and mammals!! Variety of monkeys and sloths! Beach was great. Manzanillo town is just big enough for groceries and restaurants/bars, and very walkable. Stargazing was wonderful! Nature Park with reef is nearby, also walkable from Congo Bongo!! Dan, Marisol, and Maasai are the greatest hosts ever!!!! We are certain to return soon.

We had the most incredible time while staying at Congo Bongo. Our open air private bungalow was the perfect place to stay for our first time to Costa Rica. We absolutely enjoyed staying in the jungle. We will forever hold a special place on our heart for Congo Bongo and will definitely be returning.

Congo Bongo EcoVillage was an excellent destination for our first trip to Costa Rica. We arrived and were fascinated by our surroundings and our "bungalow" was perfect with open air kitchen, wrap around sitting area with fans and rocking chairs, perfect for birdwatching and listening to all of the animals (particularly the howler monkeys)!! We loved the walk to the beach and along the beach. The staff was excellent, they greeted us upon arrival and each morning, they also laundered our clothing! We have recommended this area to other travelers and hope to return!

My stay at Congo Bongo EcoVillage in Costa Rica was nothing short of incredible. The secluded beach, accessible via a private jungle path, was a serene oasis that added to the magic of the experience. Congo Bongo EcoVillage is more than just a place to stay—it’s a unique lodging experience that immerses you in the vibrant wildlife and stunning landscapes of Costa Rica. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable escape into nature!

Congo Bongo was exactly the Costa Rican destination that I was looking for! Beautiful surroundings, very natural setting while enjoying a very clean and comfortable accommodation. Short walk on site to a lovely beach. The property is immaculately kept and the staff is very helpful and friendly. This will be my place of choice on future visits!

The experience of a life long dream come true!!! We were met at Congo Bongo by Marisol with the warmest welcome and guidance to our dream house where she showed us around- warned us about the 5am wake up by the Howler Monkeys and curious Racoons in the kitchen🙈. They recycle everything they can and make it into art which is beautiful and unique. Finally the next morning we meet the Owner Masai, (Marisols daughter) she was as gracious and nice as her emails and the help with booking for us. Imagine waking up to monkeys in the trees above your bed, sloths lazily hanging from trees, the fauna, exotic birds, extremely beautiful butterflies and Dragonflies. I loved the trail to get to the beach made out of tires and our own private beach, sooooo amazing 🦜🐒🦥 I can’t wait ti visit them again soon!!
