Do not recommend. Rooms are old, air smells Moldy. Staff doesn’t seem to care to help. We checked in to one room and then had to move due to issues. The next room was terrible mold smell. Debated just moving to a different location rather than “tough” it out one more night. Asked for towels 3x and they were never delivered. Pool is ok.

A last-minute trip resulted in minimal hotel options, so we ended up at Tabulia Tree Hotel more by default than by choice. Our stay vastly exceeded expectations! Our previous two nights in Monteverde were pretty rough, so I was dealing with some unhappy travel companions (my wife and kids, 17 and 14). Hilariously, upon check-in, I was handed a key to Room 212, which had been called out in multiple 1* reviews. "AYFKM," I thought to myself. (My wife didn't see the same humor in the room assignment.) By any objective measure, those reviews were grossly inaccurate - the room was clean, relatively spacious, and comfortable. And the ocean views were great! Our guests at an early breakfast included dozens of monkeys swinging from the trees and running along the power lines - definitely one of our trip's highlights. All in all, we had a great stay - hope you do, too!

The Hotel is a lot simpler than what it looks in the pictures and it need restructuring. Despite we had a "De Luxe" room, inside it is very simple and you will only have a 50cm wardrobe in the bathroom, close to the shower !". We had to use our extra single bed as wardrobe. They provide coffe machine but not coffee or tea....which is a non sense. Better to remove it. Staff is very kind but sometime miss the basics of the Customer Service: Cat's food is just in front of the small reception and you have to make attention to avoid it. The doors of 2 bathroom are always open close to the Reception...not nice to see. You have to know that it is 5 km away from Manuel Antonio beach and 2 km from Quepos. You need to take bus or taxi for everything.

This hotel was more basic than some we have stayed in but what it lacked in facilities it more than made up for in genuine charm and staff friendliness. The breakfast is more limited and the rooms are fairly basic but they are clean. The pool is good and prices for drinks are reasonable. The staff can’t do enough for you and they are all fantastic. You can get a regular bus (every 15 mins) into Manuel Antonio or Quepos for C$380 which is great

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights while visiting Manuel Antonio National Park. It is a very lovely little hotel situated on a hill and attached to a restaurant that provides free breakfast for its guests (check to make sure your room has it included, I believe some rooms did not). Things we liked - the rooms were very clean, well arranged, there was a small safe (you have to get a key from the desk), A/C (very needed - it is quite hot and humid in the area), a fairly large pool with a bar and lounge chairs (free), and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Also bonus - they have a cat! (or possibly a couple of them). Breakfast was nice, a few choices and some add-ons like bacon, ham etc. that you have to pay extra for but I thought they had enough options - typical breakfast, ham and cheese sandwich and yogurt and granola as well as coffee/tea and orange juice. Wait staff were great too. The entire building is very beautiful, there is a lush green garden all around, hammocks by the rooms outside and the furnishings were nice too. Things that could be better - NOT entirely an accessible hotel, I cannot stress this enough! They do have golf carts and will drive you up to your rooms (the rooms are up a hill as well) and I believe if you have a wheelchair, you might be able to go up the ramp to the rooms as well but don't quote me on that. The golf carts are not available 24/7 so if you cannot walk down the stairs or down the hill on the path, you might end up stuck in your room or down by the reception. The restaurant is down some stairs as well. Big tip - inspect your room when you get in! We noticed our room had some existing damage to the night stand and bed headboard and immediately reported to the manager to ensure we were not charged for existing damage (they were aware of it and sent someone up just to check but did not give us any trouble!) - take pictures when you get in and let management know if you notice anything. Overall, would recommend this hotel. Very nice, ample parking and easy to find. Walking distance to a few nice restaurants and short distance from the beaches and Manuel Antonio National Park as well as the neighbouring town of Quepos if you need groceries (note, no fridges in the rooms!).

We stayed at this hotel as part of our tour and found our room large but a bit dated. Rooms have AC, slat windows, but you need to go to reception for blow dryers and in room safe keys. Hotel is beside busy road which can be noisy at times. Breakfast was included and average. You must make your breakfast selection the evening before. Free wifi was good. Tours can be booked at reception. A bit far from town, but local bus stops every 20-25 min.
