Riolavitas Spa & Resort Hotel

This hotel is definitely not the 5* hotel it claims to be. We booked a poolside room assuming it was a swim up room, it wasn't, it was on the 7th floor overlooking the hotel next door pool! Paid extra to look at a better pool I won't swim in! Really wanted a swim up but had to pay an extra 20 euro per night for it, they wouldn't even discount wait I paid extra to look at the other pool. The hotel itself is falling apart, looks great if you squint your eyes but away from that there were chipped tiles, poor wallpapering, mould, you name it, they have it. The food was ok at first but you soon get sick of it as it not very varied and always seemed to get cold quickly. The drinks are as you would expect, heavily watered down so you need a good amount to feel anything, Don't bother with the boat trips, they're an absolute rip off. Booked one to look at a waterfall and go in some kind of mudpit, there way no waterfall and the mudpit was the most disguising thing I've ever seen, resembled a toilet. Also, they will charge you ridiculous prices on the boat for drinks ect, 800TL for 2 300ml EFES beers, comes to £14.72! To be honest, I found it pretty boning. My biggest problem with this hotel, the noise........ At 10am sharp, the hotel next door plays some sort of Cockrel sound, very loud, and it goes on from there..... Tacky music from all 3 hotels playing at a ridiculous level till 10pm, pretty sure thats a form of torture in some places.... Close to the last fay we we're approached by one of the entertainment staff, she had us buttered up with a drink from the bar and under duress asked us to write our hotel reviews while she was sat there, she then asked to take photo evidence for her manager, how embarrassing for that young girl to be made to do that, it only makes management look worse, the entertainment staff were great, worked long hours and were full of energy. They need paying more and more money needs sinking into the hotel, not in the senior managements pocket! Oh and the guy who runs the boutique owes me 5 euro, he slipped my change when I was distracted, they will try to have you over with either pricing for whatever side hustle they have going or not giving you your change back.

Extremely poor hotel, it has supposedly been ranked 2nd in the area however the ranking for this hotel is totally inaccurate because noway is this 5*..I've had better in a 2* or premier inn..the food is very repetitive, there are very few shops near by , around 20 minutes from shopping centres...very unpleasant experience from the start . First and last time I will ever visit ..if I could give this hotel 0/5 I would gladly give it 0 ,hence the rating of 1. If you want a great holiday avoid here!

This is a brilliant hotel. I stayed with my two teenage sons. We arrived late at night and was checked in quickly and advised there was a night kitchen open. The food at the night kitchen was not great in terms of things we would actually eat but that is the only time we found this. There was a wide variety of delicious food available at breakfast,lunch and dinner. We would choose eggs on toast, pancakes and fruit for breakfast. For lunch we liked to go to the beach restaurant where we would have pizzas, burgers, chips, Turkish pancake, chicken. Then at dinner we would go to the restaurant and my kids mainly stuck to spaghetti, fried and chicken but I enjoyed a wide variety of food that was delicious. There was a bean and lentil type stew which was beautiful. There's always fruit available and there was ice creams available at dinner time in the restaurant aswell as at certain times by the pool and beach. All the staff were really helpful and friendly. It was busy by the pool for sunbeds but always beds available at the beach when we would go and we went almost daily. You can get the Dolmus right outside the hotel and the reception staff will tell you which number you need. The rooms were lovely, clean, modern, air conditioned. There was always staff around the pool and beach area cleaning. Very clean and modern hotel. Amazing time here and would come back. I really can not fault the hotel. It was brilliant. The only thing I wasn't expecting is how noisy the neighbouring hotel is of an evening. Between 10-11pm they play very loud music outside. Riolavitas have their entertainment down by the beach which is perfect so it does not disturb those getting some sleep.
