Sandies Malindi Dream Garden

The check in experience was very disappointing. Despite noting the type of room that was booked by my agent, the staff at reception namely Alice and Dickson took us to an old room that had damp walls, was not cleaned well, with a bathroom that had ants. When I complained, they pretended to listen but did not action. When I escalated this through my agent to the guest relations manager, thats when action was taken. To be honest, I felt the staff discriminated against me because I was African. I experienced this at Onda bar as well. I was denied masala chips but a guest of a white race was served with the same masala chips! I felt it pertinent to write this review. What a shame that Kenyans should mishandle thier own fellow Kenyans. Secondly, the All inclusive package was poorly planned. Potatoes ran out at Onda bar by 5pm. Guests could not get fries. Breakfast was finished before closing time at 10am. For those coming in at 9.35am...there was really no food options

Paesaggio 5/5 Camere 4/5 Bagno 1/5 Spiaggia 4/5 Animazione 5/5 Totale 4/5 Resort immerso nella natura tropicale, con i suoi giardini sempre ben curati, il verde dei prati e i fiori lasciano sicuramente un’ottima impressione alla vista. Il Tropical Village e il Dream Garden contano due grandi piscine ciascuno. La spiaggia di sabbia fine di fronte al villaggio è sicuramente uno degli aspetti migliori. Il tratto di mare è soggetto a forti maree, ma quando ritrovi l’acqua più alta è sicuramente uno spettacolo incredibile. Il cibo al buffet possiamo ritenerlo buono, molto variegato e comprende varie tipologie di cucina (tra cui l’african e l’indian corner). Aspetto assolutamente migliore di questa vacanza: l’animazione e il personale. Giovanni e Paulina sono stati bravissimi nell’intrattenere e coinvolgerci nelle varie attività, sono sempre stati di una gentilezza straordinaria e hanno lasciato un segno profondo dentro di noi, di certo non riusciremo a dimenticarli. Salutare Giovanni a fine vacanza con gli occhi lucidi sicuramente ha dimostrato quanto ci ha lasciato in soli pochi giorni. Nel complesso è stata una bella vacanza, per le escursioni ci siamo appoggiati a Diego che ha organizzato il Safari di terra e di mare per noi (anche li, abbiamo incontrato Omar e Dickson, che hanno reso il tutto ancora più indimenticabile). Passiamo però a qualche nota dolente: Siamo arrivati al resort alle 2 di notte, dopo un volo di 12 ore e una lunga traversata in pullman. In 2 delle 3 camere non erano stati consegnati gli asciugamani e accappatoi, abbiamo dovuto richiederli più volte. Noi soggiornavamo nel Dream Garden e i bagni non erano assolutamente idonei al livello del resort. Le docce non avevano muri di protezione e l’acqua inondava tutto il bagno, in alcune camere lo scarico non funzionava bene e cadevano pezzi di muro da dietro il lavandino. La parte con il letto e del balcone erano anche molto carine ma il bagno ha assolutamente bisogno di essere ristrutturato per reggere il livello. Nel complesso comunque consiglio vivamente la struttura, per i suoi paesaggi e per il personale meraviglioso.

Paid $193 USD/night "All Inclusive" single bed 3 night stay, advised ahead by email meals incl breakfast, lunch, dinner all provided. Get there, "lunch is not included" and "any drinks at dinner including juice or water cost additional". Bath: Body gel dispenser did not work, no shower wall and depression just inside bath door led to continuous puddle of liquid requiring 4-5 floor towels per day. Bed: Extremely rigid. Side sleeper and woke up with sore ribs, literally. Beach: Seaweed throughout. Meals: Breakfast, good. Dinner mostly good but one (of 3) night arrived 30 minutes before closing and all meats were gone except few pieces of suboptimal grilled chicken in broth or liquid of some sort. Airport Shuttle: $36 USD for literally a 10 minute drive. In Kenya. That's over 5000 kes; I pay less for a taxi in Manhattan. In Kenya that is bad.

I recently had a disappointing experience at Onda Cafe on the beach, where there seems to be a group of staff involved in scamming guests, led by a girl named Nancy. After booking a 5-day all-inclusive package, I was unexpectedly presented with an uncommunicated bill upon checkout on August 5th. Despite my efforts to address the issue, the staff refused to engage since I was recording the conversation. Nancy was extremely disrespectful, screaming at me. Thankfully, the polite head of security, Mr. Onyango, was there to witness the situation and tried to handle it maturely. Unfortunately, the hotel management did not intervene, seemingly hiding behind security, which suggests that such scamming practices are part of their business. My stay, which I had hoped would be pleasant, turned out to be traumatic, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Their customer service is terrible, and the staff are rude and unresponsive. Shockingly, a staff member entered my room at night using a spare key despite my presence, which is completely unacceptable. Additionally, the service was slow, and I had to repeatedly ask for drink refills at the bar. For a hotel that claims to be four-star, the standards fall drastically short. Nancy wrongfully charged me and screamed in my face, while Sofia at the reception displayed a poor attitude throughout my checkout process on August 5th at 11:30 AM. During my break from work in October, I'll be taking legal action against the staff who mishandled me and the hotel for being so negligent. Mr Onyango did his part to calm the situation, but I will be taking action against Nancy and the hotel.

its a very comfy hotel, i would recommend to get a room next to the dream garden pool which is really nice for a swim in the evening. service is also excellent, and i would recommend trying out the Onda Bar for a light evening snack and drink. overall, i had really nice experience, and i shall return for another stay

We really enjoyed our stay and we had a lovely time. Dola and victor at the bar very enjoyable and welcoming. However,Pharrell was not very nice to the trainees and to some female guest. He needs to be straightened out. Respect is earned. We would definitely come back.
