Socrates Hotel Malia Beach

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel and wanted to especially highlight the exceptional service provided by Despina. From the moment we arrived, she was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. Her friendly attitude and attention to detail truly made a difference in our experience.

Hotel was really nice, people cleaned it every day for us and the bar by the pool was brilliant! Despina was caring and a hard worker and always made our day brighter!

Myself and my sister just spent the most wonderful 5 nights at this gorgeous hotel in Crete 🌞✨ Everything was spotless… from the poolside to the restaurant to reception. What really made our stay special, though, was the incredible staff. Everyone made such a genuine effort to get to know us, always greeting us warmly at breakfast and going out of their way to ensure we had a perfect stay. We didn’t have dinner at the hotel, but the poolside lunch was fantastic, and the rooms had everything we needed, hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, mirrors, and a spacious wardrobe. Huge shoutout to Debbie, she was an absolute delight. Already dreaming of coming back… Highly recommend this hotel. Thank you all!

We loved our stay at Socrates. We visited as part of a group of 8 and from moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. Every member of staff was very friendly but special mention must go to Debbie and Helen who work at bar . They absolutely made our holiday ! What a fantastic pair. We felt like family by end of week. Rooms are a bit dated but spotlessly clean and beds very comfortable. Breakfast had a good selection ( our friend missed her baked beans though 😋) We d have no hesitation in recommending Socrates to our friends and look forward to returning again.

Stayed at The Socrates end of July into August 2024 as a family of 4. From start to finish this hotel was amazing. Relaxed atmosphere, made special by ALL the wonderful staff. Was Met by George, night staff and security. Dumped our bags in the room and went straight to the pool. Met Maria at reception in the morning. Maria helped us book taxis and negotiate prices into the capital. Breakfast is relaxed. Eating outside by the pool. There is enough food for a hearty breakfast, which we liked. Our first time in ages not going all inclusive and this was far better. And we were not rushed. The ladies in the kitchen are wonderful, so friendly and helpful, always. Despina, it was a pleasure to meet you for hugs every morning. You work hard, are caring, kind and the guests love you. Love your vanilla milkshakes :-) We had a 2 bedroom apartment. Bright, clean, spacious, and cleaned every day by the hard working cleaning crew ladies. The pool area is clean, great sun beds, never had trouble finding a bed, The deep end of the pool is VERY deep. Supermarket with bakery less that a 5 minute walk, with the beach and beach bars another 2 minutes away. Loads of Tavernas left and right of the supermarket and bakery. Its a straight road either way. Just watch out for passing cars, coaches, trucks, quadbikes, mopeds etc on this road. First time ever in Greece - we shall be returning Thank you Socrates, great work by all. You have a team to be very proud of.

We had a TERRIBLE start to our holiday at a resort in Analipsi and when we arrived at Socrates we wanted to go home but the staff here were amazing. Maria was so nice and she gave us tips on where to go, our room wasn’t ready yet so we went out to the bar/ restaurant by the pool and DESPINA was great. She served us and made it a point to learn our names. It was a personalised experience and she makes the best cocktails. Everyday at this place was magical. We had a slight issue with the room and the hotel dealt with it ASAP and always had a smile on their face. It felt like being at home with them. We were chewed by mosquitoes literally eaten alive during the day walking around and Despina came running over with a bite gel, gave us some and like a mother would, told us not to scratch haha but honestly best place to stay, we will definitely be back. Housekeeping kept the rooms clean everyday and were super helpful. Efkaristo Socrates we love you ❤️ And thank you George
