Hotel Alpino

We were a group of 15 friends and family who stayed at The Hotel Alpino for 7 nights at the end of April. What an absolutely brilliant hotel. Perfectly placed in the centre of Malcesine. Close to the lake for the ferries and close to the bus stops. Also the cable car up to Monte Baldo(well worth a visit) was only a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Malcesine itself is a lovely place, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants as well as a castle. The hotel was a great place to stay. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom and shower were excellent. Breakfasts were good, plenty of variety, We ate in the restaurant a couple of times as a group. Food was good and served up all together. I have to mention the staff at the hotel .Giovanni and Patrizia on reception were so friendly and helpful(Patrizia even took some of our groups luggage up to the coach pick up point in her car,thank you). I have to say that all the staff in the hotel and the restaurant were great and added to the enjoyment of our stay. Thank you all. I have a feeling we will be back. Dave Taylor.

If you want a poolside holiday, fluffy robes and lots of toiletries this is NOT the place for you. If, however, you need a family run hotel that is  centrally located with a comfortable bed, gushy shower, that is spotlessly clean, TV, fridge, daily room service, and kettle in the room with a very good restaurant on site plus staff who care then this is the place for you. Highly recommended.

Staff were fantastic, really helpful and friendly, made you feel very welcome. Hotel spotless. Really good value for money. We ate in the restaurant, the food was delicious. Home made olive oil so good we bought some to take home. Located in the centre of a bustling pretty town. Short walk to bus stop and boat trips. Would highly recommend and we can’t wait to go back. This is a secret gem of a hotel in Malcesine. The location is perfect, just a stones throw from the ferry port and the old town, and a few minutes (uphill) walk to the bus station. The rooms aren’t fancy, but they are comfortable and reasonably spacious. I had a room on the side of the hotel and it was fairly quiet despite the central location. The air conditioning worked very well. The room included a fridge and a kettle with coffee and tea which is a nice touch. The bathroom was quite compact and the shower cubicle is quite small. It was fine for me but might be a bit of a tight squeeze for someone who is a bit larger. The breakfast buffet was good with a range of pastries as well as a few hot items. Patrizia and her staff provide a very friendly and professional service. In a town where many of the hotels are high end and expensive, this hotel is a great find where comfort and service are not compromised but affordability if a bit better.

A lovely comfortable family run hotel in an excellent position in Malcesine. We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We were a party of 4 in two rooms, one with a balcony and a view over the square, shops, mountain and church. The other room didn’t have a balcony and looked out over another hotel but was a very decent size, with a lovely bathroom a decent wardrobe and decent drawer space. This room appeared to be the better of the two as the room with the balcony didn’t have as much storage space and had a smaller bathroom. (We can’t say that this applies to all of the rooms with balconies but this one did seem to be smaller than the balcony-less room.) However, it was lovely sitting on the balcony watching the world go by. Towels and bed linen in both rooms were changed regularly during the week we stayed and were beautifully clean & fresh. There was a good choice of food and drinks for breakfast, and a restaurant on site for meals if you didn’t want to venture out during the evening. You had a 10% discount if you ate there too. The pleasant and friendly breakfast-room staff worked non-stop making sure that tables were cleared & the food and drink replenished quickly, and the great staff on duty in the evening worked their socks off too. We had a trip to Venice one day which left early and we were surprised and pleased to find out that the breakfast room opened early especially for the people on the trip. Due to our early morning departure for home on the Wednesday we had to miss breakfast, and were provided with a thoughtful breakfast pack-up to take with us. A lovely touch. We were very sad to leave this lovely hotel and beautiful town on Lake Garda and wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Thank you Hotel Alpino staff, each & every one of you.

Excellent hotel - agree with all other 5 star reviews. Location - perfect. Staff - friendly and helpful. Breakfast - great. Cleanliness - first class. Restaurant - fabulous. Overall - great value for money Already planning a return visit next year.
