While visiting the stunning Edgcumbe estate for a bit of sightseeing during our trip to Cornwall, we stumbled upon The Edgcumbe Arms—and what an absolute delight it was! We're not locals (visiting from out of town near Plymouth), and this cosy, traditional pub felt like stepping back in time in the best possible way. The building itself oozes character, with beautiful vintage décor that gives off a Victorian-era charm. It’s the kind of place you instantly feel at home in, with crackling atmosphere and gorgeous views across the water. The beer here is clearly well looked after—every pint was fresh and reasonably priced. But what really made our visit stand out was the service. We were greeted by Harry, who was nothing short of brilliant. Warm, funny, and incredibly helpful, he not only gave us great recommendations for drinks but also shared loads of local knowledge that really enriched our trip. You could tell he genuinely loved the place, and his enthusiasm was infectious. If you’re anywhere near the area, make sure you pop into The Edgcumbe Arms. It’s a proper pub with proper charm.

We took the ferry over from the Royal William Yard and had a carvery. It was delicious and plenty of choice. We sat upstairs as we hadn't booked and had a lovely view of the water. Leah gave us great service at the table and the bar staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for Sunday lunch. Great atmosphere and food.

We spent 2 nights at the Edgecumb Arms for a family reunion. The room was superb, with great views over the Tamar. It was very well appointed. The English breakfast was delicious and copious and the staff was extremely attentive and welcoming. Bonus point - we were able to able to bring our dog. Amazing walks in the Edgecumb park which is one minute away or alongside the river Tamara. This was our second stay and will happily stay again in the future.

We chose to take our visiting friends to the Edgecumbe, now it's so much better under the new management. We didn't regret it at all. Service was really good; attentive, buf not intrusive. The food was really tasty from a varied menu. A very enjoyable afternoon. Thank you.

Delightful old fashioned pub overlooking Plymouth across the water. Very welcoming staff - they kept the kitchen open for me when traffic delayed me. The fish and chips was very good. Bedroom overlooked the water and Plymouth and was comfortable though the bed was hard and the bathroom tiny but functional. Its a bit of a hike round by road but ferry to Plymouth takes 8 minutes. Great place but difficult to justify the price

Just had three nights. I've walked past this pub plenty of times but only been in once (nearly forty years ago!). I find the whole Rame peninsula truly magical, but our stay here was wonderful. Worth every penny, will definitely be back by ferry for a Sunday Carvery. I hope we get to stay again some time. Staff were very friendly and hospitable.

Excellent home made Roast dinner, choice of veg 10/10. Hubby had vegetarian beetroot and squash wellington said it melted in his mouth. Friendly staff, very welcoming. Been coming here for many years and now under new management. I say the new tenants have surpassed themselves xx

We had a wonderful stay at the Edgcumbe arms and I would recommend anyone to visit for a getaway. Where do I start?! The room was perfect. Spacious, clean, comfortable , had everything you needed, not to mention exceptional views across to Royal William Yard. Perfect location to hop onto the Cremyll ferry if you fancy visiting royal William yard, the ferry stop is literally in front of the pub and comes every half an hour.So nice to have the option to explore Royal William Yard before coming back again on the ferry. We had an exceptional carvery at the pub with all the trimmings before strolling around Mount Edgcumbe which is gorgeous and makes for a perfect day. The pub itself is so cosy and the lovely team made us feel so welcome. I would honestly highly recommend coming here for a break. I can’t fault it. The value, hospitality, location and quality of our experience was second to none.
