Room no in good condition, damaged floor and furniture,but good location and amazing see view. I think for £149 I good expect a better room

Just returned from a week’s stay at the Seth Port Mahon, this was a return trip having stayed previously in 2017. Such a lovely hotel, which has been renovated in recent years. Our room was very comfortable with an amazing view, we were lucky to be staying in a Junior Suite, the bathroom was a definite upgrade, great shower, a good nights sleep, a coffee machine which my husband used daily, little touches, and always throughly cleaned each day. It was great to recognise so many of the hotel staff, a sign of good management at the hotel and a happy team, all of which couldn’t have been any more helpful and friendly during our stay. Silvia on reception and Gemma in the bar were particular favourites. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and throughout our stay we were always made to feel incredibly welcome. We visited as a family of three, our son now 14, so this time we were only bed and breakfast, but did enjoy lunch at the hotel on several days. Breakfast offers a wide variety of options and they were great with helping with my husband’s dairy allergy when we had questions. The hotel is only a 15 min taxi ride from from airport, and a short walk away from the town of Mahón, which has great shops and cafès, you can also head down to the mariner for wonderful views and plenty of restaurants. I would thoroughly recommend the Seth Port Mahon hotel, we’ll definitely be returning to that amazing view, at one of our most favourite places to stay. Just had a wonderful weeks holiday via Jet2 at the lovely traditional Port Mahon Hotel which I first visited over 50 years ago. Prior to arriving I was offered an upgrade to a suite with balcony and sea view at modest cost which I gladly accepted. I enjoyed amazing views over the estuary, watching the big ships and colourful sunrises. Only negative was why the shower controller was 2 metres away from the shower head? Makes temperature control difficult & wastes water. The breakfast buffet was over 15M long offering everything you could wish for from fresh fruit, continental breakfast to full English. Service was swift. I did a lot of walking around Mahon and used the buses to visit Cuitadella, Fornells & Es Casteel, also the town train around Mahon and the glass bottomed boat for the harbour cruise. The Hotel is a great base for touring. I am planning to return again to Port Mahon Hotel next March when Jet2 start flying from Liverpool (more convenient). In summary, the Port Mahon Hotel exceeded my expectations and any thanks to Silvia on reception for helping with my arrangements. *** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED***

Our staying i Hotel Seth Port Mahón was very positive abd well luxurious. organization, kindnes and availability of staff was second to none. The location just in front of amazing views of Mahon Bay and port was expectacular. Breakfast was bery well organuced, displayed and the vary was very wide, there was everything and of quality. Our room was really spacious, with a nice balcony that looked to a communal square accessible from the pool garden. The staff were always kind and available to us with everything we needed at all times. Very happy with our staying; I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone: lone traveler, couples, families with kids. We would definitely repeat if the chance comes around.

I had read reviews of the hotel prior to booking and was not disappointed in my choice. We wanted somewhere quiet, few children and in an area that is not too touristy. The hotel has been recently refurbished and is in excellent order. On the second day we had a couple of minor issues with our room which we reported to reception on our way to breakfast (as much for future guests benefit as much our own) and by 1000 two maintenance men came to fix the bathroom and cupboard doors. The typical visitors here are older English couples. We spoke to quite a few people and many are returnees (the most we heard was 14 times) and as the hotel is so well run, in a quiet area, the staff treat all the guests with respect and enjoy interacting with them so it is no surprise and is a reflection of the hotels quality and value for money. The breakfast buffet had an excellent selection and regularly topped up and items were kept on hot plates (so often hotel breakfast buffet items are not kept warm but no issues here on that front). We only visited the dinner buffet once which was very popular and looking at the menu had a different and varied selection every day. Dinner buffets are not really our favourite way to have a meal but there is a great selection of restaurants on the marina below (easily reached by a free lift two hundred yards to the left of the hotel entrance). We had meals at The Cardamom (Indian restaurant – twice), Wepi (Asian and burgers) and La Florinata (Italian specializing in home made pasta – twice) and which we gave a 5 star rating to each. We did the harbour boat tour (€15 each) and caught the red land train town tour (€8 each which stops right outside hotel by the big ships propellor) both lasting one hour. We also went by bus from the central bus station (20 min walk away) to Cuitadella which is very pretty. We really enjoyed our time here and all the reception members spoke excellent English so we could ask them for advice.

This is a lovely hotel with gorgeous views over the natural harbour. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the hotel is kept in tip-top condition. Our room was spacious and quiet, with a big walk-in shower in the bathroom, and a furnished balcony overlooking the garden. The bed was extremely comfortable with nice linens. The hotel is in a convenient position right across the road from the (free) elevator that takes you down to port level. If you want to walk into Mahon, it takes about 15 minutes to stroll around the harbour to the other elevator, which takes you up to the square right next to the central market. There are loads of restaurants within a few minutes walk - we particularly liked El Rais, which is directly below the hotel and can be reached either via the steps in front of the hotel or via the elevator a few metres along the road. We had lunch at La Terazza a couple of times - the food is delicious and the staff very helpful (even on our first day whe we turned up ten minutes after closing, they really kindly organised us a salad). The hotel is only 10-15 minutes from the airport, so extremely convenient fora quick break.

My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful 9 night stay at this charming hotel. We were greeted pleasantly on arrival, and offered a refreshing Pomada drink. The bonus was that our room was ready, and no having to hang around until 3pm, like you have to in a lot of hotels. We had a double room with balcony and sea view. The view from the room was spectacular, with views of the port and Blood Island. It was one holiday where I didn't mind waking up early, just to sit on the balcony, and soak in the views. The room had ample storage space, a nice large bathroom, really good silent A/C. My only gripe was that we thought that the cleaning could have been improved.....just not sure about how efficient the room maid was. Breakfast always had an incredible choice, from fresh cooked eggs, hot and cold dishes, sandwiches, cereals, fruit, tea, coffee, smoothies, cakes and different breads.....if you couldn't find anything acceptable from that list then you must be a fussy eater. Pedro and Toni in the restaurant are helpful, friendly and funny. The pool area is nice and clean, with lovely grassed area, and views towards the port. Unfortunately you do get some sad people that decide to bag their sun lounger before even having breakfast....and believe it or not, most of them were aged over 50, you'd think they would know better. Silvia on reception is the font of all knowledge, she knows the best restaurants, places to visit, bus times....please be nice to her. The hotel is in a great location. You can walk into town in 20 minutes, one straight road from the back of the hotel, or their is bust stop across the road the No15, every 30 minutes. Come out of the hotel from the poolside, and either walk down 100 steps, or walk 300m to an elevator that will take you down to the port promenade. There are numerous bars and restaurants along the prom, our favourite was Latitude 40, where you can sit and have a drink and watch the luxury boats come and go. Go to this hotel, and enjoy it. We have just made a reservation to return next year, and have upgraded to a junior suite.

Excellent hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is amazing, and nothing runs out, the chefs kept everything topped up. The evening buffet was also very good with plenty of choice. The walk to the town along the harbour is very nice. You can go down the steps in front of the hotel or if you turn left out of the hotel and go past the blue funnel of the Maritme club there is a concrete block which is a lift down to the harbour (very useful, especially for coming back up) We did the trip round the harbour on the Don Joan which was lovely and also the trip to Illa Del Rei which is well worth a visit. The town is full of restaurants and cafes and beautiful churches and the museum is also worth a visit. We took the bus to Es Castell and had lunch at Cala Fonts which is gorgeous.

We have just returned from our first visit this year to the hotel, we have been before. Everything is as good as it always was, thanks to the leadership of Ernestine and the hard work of her team who made our holiday so special. The reception staff managed by Sylvia are always helpful and friendly, the Chef and kitchen team produce wonderful, varied food every day, the restaurant team - particularly Javi, Pedro, Vincente and Victor (not sure of the other names) work very hard to ensure the guests are happy, the cleaning girls/boys do a wonderful job throughout the hotel. it is to Ernestine's credit that we saw the same staff this year as when we stayed last year. Many hotels now, struggle to retain their staff so it must be as nice a place to work as it is to stay for a holiday. Well done to everyone. We will be back again to enjoy this special place in such a perfect location as soon as we can.

My wife and I joined a walking group when we visited this lovely hotel last week. The stars of this hotel are the staff who work so hard to ensure that people staying there have a great time. It would be impossible to mention everyone on the staff who greeted us with warmth and humour, but particular mention must be given to Sylvia, Antonio and Vlado at reception, Toni (waitress) with Pedro (waiter) who were on duty at meal times and Gemma at the bar. Our room on the second floor was more than adequate and due to the fact that it was so so quiet, ensured that we had a restful night’s sleep. The food was of a very high standard, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a selection of milk at breakfast, which included oat milk! We had a minor problem in our room, which was dealt with promptly and in a very professional manner. Finally, the location is outstanding. To appreciate the location you will simply have to come and visit this professionally run hotel.

The HotelPort Mahon has only recently been re opened since a major renovation and in my view the result is terrific. My room was welcoming and comfortable. The restuarant and bar have all been altered and brightened . As a solo traveller I was welcomed at Reception on arrival and made to feel at home. The staff in the restaurant and bar were terrific, efficient and helpful. They showed a great pride in their renovated hotel. Breakfast is buffet and plentiful, Lunches on the patio were good and had a wonderful view. The evening meal was again a buffiet with a good choice of starter, main and sweets. I was delighted that I re visited this hotel and I can't wait for the next time.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Port Mahon Hotel. Our room was comfortable with a view of the port from the balcony. Staff were invariably friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were good, with plenty of choice. We did eat in the restaurant on a couple of evenings and that was fine. It was enjoyable to have a drink on the terrace, overlooking the port.

Deserves 5 stars for stunning position of hotel, buffet food, exceptional cleanliness and wonderful staff. Sadly the piano bar was not open (probably too early in season) and the dinner on the first night was abysmal as no buffet available.
