The Ridge Residence

The Ridge Residence is definitely a place you would want to go to in the Seychelles! Our room was clean and practical, the bed was very cozy and comfy, we had AC and very good WiFi, and the food was delicious! And needless to say the view is gorgeous! I was lucky enough to enjoy a swim in their nice little pool with this amazing view in the cool morning breeze while birds were chirping their sweet songs! And last but not least the staff are super friendly and polite! They make sure you have everything you need and they are very sweet, helpful and welcoming. Thank you Ridge Residence for welcoming us into the Seychelles, we could not have had a warmer or nicer welcome!

A lovely, traditional, friendly, well-run hotel. I arrived after a long flight and had a migraine - the staff were very kind and sensitive. The room had a balcony with a lovely view towards the sea and I could watch birds and fruit bats flying by. The room was spacious, air conditioned and the bed comfy. Breakfast was very good and service attentive. There were a number of vegetarian options on the menu for evening meal - and all was very tasty. I would happily stay here again.

My Wife and I booked a short visit to Seychelles, and we wanted to stay in a smaller hotel than the big resorts, we choose the Ridge Residence – and we were pleasantly surprised. Ridge Residence is set back into the Mountains with fantastic views over Victoria to one side and Eden Island the other. Its also only a short 10-minute drive from the Airport. The Ridge is family run Hotel, by Jane and Franco, and they made us feel like we were one of the Family from the time of arrival to the day of our departure. Our room was one of three on the 2nd level, above the five that were at pool level. The Room was perfectly clean, modern and well maintained. We had read in the reviews that the food was nice so we decided to stay and eat in the Hotel - We must commend the Chef for the food we ate, very original Creole food (the Smoked fish Salad, and the Chicken Curry is a must to try), although all meals we ate were excellent. All the Staff were lovely, and very professional in their duties, especially Anna who was working behind the Bar serving us a few Seybrew. We would say that if we ever came back to Seychelles, we would most definitely choose to stay back at the Ridge due to the location being near Victoria and Eden Island, the hospitality and the authentic Creole Food. Me and a friend stayed in The Ridge Residences from March 15 to 17. Manuela was nice, she received us nicely, even told us the places we should go. Please note that the location of this hotel is on a hill. Our flight landed early and it took us 3 hours to get to our rooms as they say that the people occupying the room are still checking out and they are still cleaning it. We were so tired already. Breakfast is good and decent. We got the sea view room. They have one rude and unfriendly staff though, her name is Theophilla. She never smiled to us, as if she hated our entire existence. But I have observed how nice she was to guests who are “white”. Me and my friend is Asian and African. She even mumbled something bad when my friend left the dining table to use the toilet. That’s just so unnecessary and rude to be honest. As our plans changed, we extended for another night. We saw cockroach inside our room. Upon checkout, my friend have asked if we can have some bottle of water and she was told that we should pay for the extra night if we want water. Wow! There were new guests and they wanted us to leave fast so they can clean the room, and the new occupants did not even have to wait for 3 hours like us. I feel like it was somewhat an unfair treatment. Better off spending extra bucks and booking a hotel on Eden Island. Lesson learned. I don’t recommend this place to my friends at all.

Great location, very comfortable and clean rooms. Staff extremely helpful in any thing that we asked including making reservations for cars throughout our trip. Very fast and accurate communication. I highly recommend. Good breakfast included the the room price. The pool is beautiful too.

Comfortable option for an overnight stay before or after a flight. Good soundproofing in the rooms. There is a large terrace with a pool and tables. The hotel is on a hill, the view from the terrace is beautiful. You can walk to Victoria, but it's a 40 minute walk.
