Au Coq du Bonheur

We had the sweetest two night stay at Coq du Bonheur. We chose to come to Magog because we could see on the map that it would be at the center of the totality for the eclipse. We had no idea what the town would be like and hadn't really scrutinized the B and B options too carefully. We were just thrilled that all three of their rooms were available as we were traveling with our son and friends. Right away my phone interactions with Denis and Sylvie were delightful and I had a very good feeling about their place. A few weeks before the eclipse Sylvie surprised and delighted us with an email telling us she had purchased us eclipse glasses! When we arrived we discovered what a great location Coq au Bonheur was in. Just minutes from the big park (where we watched the eclipse) with walking paths alongside beautiful Lake Memphremagog and the very nice downtown of Magog so we could walk to the excellent restaurants there. Everything at Coq du Bonheur was PERFECT. And the breakfast was off the charts! Best we've ever had at any B and B. A four course breakfast, with freshly made smoothies, an expertly cooked gourmet egg dish, homemade loaf bread, and excellent coffee. All of our interactions with Sylvie and Denis were so positive and friendly. They are attentive but not fussy. They are very genuine people who clearly like people. Now that we have discovered Magog and the Eastern Townships of Quebec, we will be back! And there is no doubt we will stay at Coq du Bonheur!

Notre séjour chez Sylvie et Denis a été un petit bout de paradis. Les hôtes sont adorables, très généreux, toujours à votre service. La chambre est mignonne, confortable, et silencieuse. Il y a aussi un salon partagé avec des jeux, des revues, et un petit foyer. Le petit-déjeuner nous a beaucoup surpris, et est sans doute la perle de ce BnB : en quatre services, il est raffiné, copieux, sans être lourd. Par exemple, le premier jour nous avons eu : un smoothie mangue-coco, un granola maison avec yogurt, des oeufs bénédictes avec des asperges sautées, puis un financier aux canneberges. Le tout avec un excellent service et du très bon café à la demande (cappuccino, espresso, latté...). Le deuxième jour était un menu différent. Bref, on recommande !
