Jinshan Wanping Farmhouse

Best experience we’ve had in China. The owner picked us up from the station, upgraded our room free of charge which was such a treat after our hike to watch the sunset on the wall. We had delicious food at the restaurant downstairs that evening and felt very welcomed by the locals. I would highly recommend staying here if you’d like to go to The Great Wall and have a less touristy experience and actually get the wall to yourself.

Perfect service, clean and modern facilities, unbeatable location. I originally booked a small budget room as I was travelling solo and only needed a room for a night after hiking the Great Wall. I received a free room upgrade and I was so grateful as I was so much more knackered after my hike than I’d anticipated! The bed was comfortable and spacious, the shower and bathroom was modern and clean. The location was a few minute walk away from the Jinshanling gate. Perfect for catching the sunrise at the Great Wall in the morning. The restaurant run by the homestay host family was delicious and each serving is generous. I had stewed cabbage and pork and serving of rice and it was exactly what I needed after my hike! Flawless experience and a major part of an experience of a lifetime. I hope to stay here again next time.

Was a great place to stay just a short walk to the great wall entrance. I caught the bus from Beijing and the owners picked me up from the bus stop. Would recommend to stay.

This homestay is perfect for visiting the great wall, it is located about 2 minutes from the entrance which was perfect for going up to watch the sunrise. We got a double entrance pass so we could visit twice. The host was lovely and makes the most delicious food. We wish we had stayed longer to try more of her food! The rooms were lovely and very clean. There are views of the great wall from some of the hotel rooms and the restaurant. I plan to come back some time in the winter to see the great wall and I would definitely use this hotel again!

We loved this play! The room was incredible with an amazing view of the wall. We also had a lovely breakfast! Definitely recommend.

What can I say other than WOW, great farmhouse in a beautiful quiet setting over looking the Great Wall. Rooms were very modern, spotlessly clean with hairdryer and toiletries massive windows to look at the incredible view. The food we had was delicious good price 86 yuan including 2 big beers. We also used there taxi to get to the water town and back to the train station. They sell snacks and water at a very good price also. Book this you will and have the wall to Yourself more or less and some home cooked food and a lovely sleep Thank you wanping farmhouse.

Beautiful location and all the hotel workers were very kind and hardworking. This hotel was the highlight of our trip. The hotel is very clean, very peaceful stay.

The room and facilities were fantastic. Having a view of the wall was very cool and the location close to it was perfect.

The owners are super kind, the shower is amazing and the room is nice! If you want a nice place to visit the jinshanling wall, this is the place to be. A 5 minute walk at max to the gate/cable car but in 30 minutes you can reach the top of the wall by foot. In short: -Very kind staff/owners - delicious food - beautiful location!
