Wellington Top 10 Holiday Park

Nice enough park inside, but it's in an industrial area and pricing is rather ridiculous

Wife and I with one friend needed a local stay for one night for an evening for a family birthday gathering, plus visit to Hutt Hospital the next morning.

As Top 10 members we weren’t impressed with the service here. We weren’t given a choice of sites although there were lots available. Instead were just directed to a cramped, dark site under dripping trees. Not enough space for a caravan, awning and car and no TV signal. Had to go back in the rain and ask for a better site and then move. The park itself was pleasant with clean toilets and spacious shower cubicles. But not good value for the high price and on top of that we weren’t warned that they add a surcharge for paying by credit card. It just appeared when paying. Never struck this before when paying for accommodation at a holiday park. We’ve stayed at much friendlier and service oriented Top 10s but if such surcharges are becoming the norm, we won’t be joining again when our membership expires.

The location for a holiday park so class to the Wellington CBD is really a plus especially if you are catching a ferry or arriving from Picton. If you need the shower block they are very clean and well maintained. The front office staff are lovely and very helpful with ideas on what to do and getting around. We did not like the kitchen cabins at all as they were just so noisy. But perhaps other types of accommodation would be better.

We found the staff very helpful and the facilites and grounds were as expected at a Classic Top Ten holiday park.

Great location away from the city caught the 83 bus into city We’ll set out park with lots of options in accommodation. Great reception area and hot showers Pretty clean and tidy

Good location but a bit pricey. The beds were okay but I could not get over the musty smell. Wifi service was poor in the cabin but worked well outside!

Initial impression was very good. Then the neighbours from hell arrived in the room next door. An abusive violent Jake the Mus type character with a scared partner and 3 screaming toddlers that had a running domestic fight from 6:00pm until 11:00pm. Police attended which calmed it down only to flare ip again when they left. We stayed in our room with the lights off to avoid drawing the attention of the violently abusive male. They eventually abandoned the premises after midnight, leaving behind discarded clothes and litter. We'll rather sleep in our car next to the motorway next time.
