DO NOT LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS - We absolutely loved the HG Tenerife Sur from the minute we arrived. We were upgraded to a One Bedroom Apartment from a Studio which was a nice surprise, and the place was great. People need to remember what you are paying and what you receive for this, it exceeded expectations for the star rating and price. The staff are all lovely, the pool area is great, location is fantastic, we could not fault our stay. The following day after returning home we have booked up for the same week and a half next December and can’t wait to come back!

Stayed a week beginning of December 24. Nice, clean, simple apartments that had all we needed for the week. Close to lots of bars and restaurants and a short walk downhill to the main town. We were in the older blocks facing the pools, not sure I would have liked ground floor facing out given the high security fencing. Cleaners were in every day to change towels and we had no complaints with that. Friends had issue with shower in their apartment overflowing which took a while to partially fit. Not sure I would visit in height of season as no air con - nighttime was stifling even in December - and pool/sunbed issue would be difficult when busy.

First time at the HG Tenerife Sur and is very nice. The studio apartment is at the back so is quiet at night although the staff like to gossip at full volume around 7.30 am which is a bit annoying (better insulation around the door would be good). TV has no English channels but then I am not here to watch telly. Told is a fault across the complex. Food is lovely. I never have high expectations for hotel food but this was fresh and tasty same with breakfast. Staff are friendly and only criticism was no escorting to your room. Overall a decent room at 3 star level. Judging by comments best to come out of summer. Loads of sun beds and quiet.

Very disappointed. Grubby, dirty, very low standards of basic hygiene. Room 139 was opposite some sort of store room/staff gathering area so noisy from early morning. Stayed 2 weeks. Bathroom door latch broken. Cockroach in kitchen, mites everywhere. Did request to be moved, it was denied. Only positive. Pool area very nice.

Initially didn’t like our room facing the rd and staff were very professional and attentive to us changing . All staff were friendly and kept the complex spotless . Each night music is played near the restaurant which was lovely to hear .and suits all ages. The room was bright airy and the bed was super comfy . Basic kitchen utensils . Towels were changed every day . The pool is a great size and lots of sun beds which were available throughout the day : there is a rule not to reserve with a towel but this was ok .great location and would definitely return and recommend.

Please dont beleive the bad reviews, as honestly these must either be expecting 5 star luxury or they have drank way to much Duty free. Hotel Spotless, nice rooms, shop on site, gym on. Site 2 bars and a restaurant, cleaners wirk none stop, I had read reviews about cleaners, but remember this, if you leave belongings all over your bed its not getting changed, as they are not paid to put your stuff away or wash up your dishes, only thing I will say is no lifts so you will have to carry your own luguage. Outside Loads of shops bars restsurants, take-aways. Over the road is a shop called low cost pie shop, amazing fresh bagguettes ideal for a daily lunch or for airport as we did they also sell sausage rolls, pies pasties cakes its endless. Tides chip shop, again over the road, brilliant. Several ways togo beach and shops. Great Hotel

Awful hotel, can't even have a laugh by the pool without getting into trouble & threatened with police! Staff at reception are not just rude but blatantly cheeky. The cleaners came once in our 5 nights & didn't do anything other than leave bedding (for us to change ourselves) and when we asked for toilet roll we were told to buy it ourselves.

Hotel in good location. Near strip of bars & shops & easy to walk down to beach or main bars/restaurants. Room large enough with small kitchen, large balcony. Pool was an issue as half the pool is in shade most of day, people get up in middle of night to put towels down in best spots. Recommend across from reception in front of big block for maximum sun. Also there is no music except if over by snack bar so it's a bit dead with no atmosphere. Restaurant at front of hotel. Nice pizza, singers on at night. Shop on site sells lovely warm croissants & also baguette shop across road.

Really surprised at how great this hotel actually was, we had read the previous reviews and were quite concerned. I can honestly say we were very impressed, our room was modern, spacious and very clean. The actual bedroom was very spacious with doors leading onto a patio area. The lounge area was also a good size which included the kitchen area which had all the utensils that you needed. We did however have to pay an upgrade to have a pool view, but that was our choice. The room was cleaned regularly have no complaints. The pool area was a great size with plenty of sun beds, a few people chose to stand and wait whilst they unlocked the sun loungers, but it really was not necessary . In addition the location of the hotel is perfect for the beach and really close to the bus terminal, plenty of restaurants nearby, but there is a restaurant/ bar available at the hotel.
