Banana Bungalow West Hollywood Hotel & Hostel

Location was the BEST! I stayed in a 6 bed dorm, which was cleaned daily and had an ensuite bathroom. Underground parking garage and laundry facilities. Hot water and water pressure were good. Affordable private rooms are available. Lots of lounge areas and outdoor common spaces to soak up the sun. Some of the rooms have balconies. Free breakfast was simple and cool. Staff are amazing! Loved our stay and connecting with other travelers. Will be back!

I recently stayed at the Banana Bungalow Hostel, and it was a fun and memorable experience. This place is perfect if you’re looking for a vibrant social atmosphere. Amazing staff! Everyone we met were friendly. The organized social activities in the early evening were fun! This is an unexpected budget hostel in West Hollywood the location is really good and they have a simple breakfast with waffles. Lots of common lounge space to chill in. My dorm was comfortable, air conditioning and fan worked and the bathrooms were clean.

THIS IS VERY MUCH A HOSTEL!! Positives: •Beds were pretty comfortable. •Cleaners came everyday. •Entertainment was ok. •Fast food 2 min walk away. Negatives: • 2 of the rooms doors didn’t lock so someone could just walk into your room. •The rooms were very dated and we noticed mould on our ceiling. •There was a lot of damage to the room. •Breakfast selection was very poor (bread, bagels and pop tarts) and ran out quick. •Lots of homeless people around. Someone was chased with a machete.

Really loved the friendly welcoming staff and relaxed vibe. The location was excellent, and underground parking was convenient. Social nights in the tiki garden were really fun! It was great to meet other travelers. Rooms were clean and roomy. Breakfast included coffee, tea, pastries, and fruit. It was FREE! There are so many restaurants and little shops, including the Grove & Farmers Market. Great neighborhood, awesome budget friendly, clean place!

Great location for access to Hollywood. Nice common areas inside and outside. Big kitchen. Room was clean and spacious with 3 sets of bunks and a bathroom. Nice gathering activities with Happy Hour drinks and a walk a few blocks to a bar with karaoke on Wednesdays. Friday Happy Hour drinks and BBQ with a DJ. Rooms have access with glass sliding door/screen to outdoor common area. Nice but downside is if you come in from a long trip and want to crash, there is no buffer from outdoor music or louder conversation. Staff was friendly. Right on 217 & 218 busway which can take you to and from Hollywood Blvd and Sunset Strip or else about a 20 minute walk.
