Portbyhan Hotel

As a local, working from home and being deprived of internet access by BT, I had to work from the Portbyhan to get WiFi connection. The staff and management could not have been more welcoming and helpful. I really appreciate their help. The food too is first rate and cooked from scratch on premises - definitely a home from home.

I stayed here last night with my partner who had booked a room for a birthday surprise. There is a loading area outside whixh you can use whilst checking cases in etc and free parking just 5 mins walk away. The room was clean and cosy and lovely and warm. We had a balcony overlooking the estuary with a great view down towards the sea. Upin entry the hotel staff had provided me with some balloons, a birthday card and a small gift which was a nice surprise and a good touch!!! The Kinsize bed was very comfy and the room quiet with ood glazing. Staff without exception were friendly attentive and did their jobs well. From check in to check out we felt valued and well cared for. We had an evening meal booked which was delicious! It really couldn't be faulted so kudos to their chef and kitchen team. Our table was right by the window offering a nice vista of Looe lit up on an Autumn evening. There are a couple of other pubs etc very close by so evening options are there should you not choose to stay in the hotel bar. Last night we had a drink in it whilst a Singer entertained then headed out across the water to sample some other places. I would highly recommend this hotel - staying as a couple and would love to stay there again. Well done the Portbyhan Hotel team!

Stayed here for 2 nights end of Jan, room were spotless, with a good supply of tea and coffee, TV with good selection of channels. We had Bed breakfast and evening meal Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection of food available, dinner was absolutely superb, compliments to the chef and his team, waiters and waitresses very attentive and helpful, and the manager runs things very smoothly. Would definitely stay here again************

Went to this hotel for a few days in January with Edwards coaches have to say what great value it is, beautiful views very picturesque, the room was lovely spotlessly clean and everything in the hotel was up to date, food was amazing not one meal that wasnt amazing and the staff are so nice, would love to stay here again

Great location for beautiful Looe and surrounding area. Hotel, staff, facilities and entertainment was very good including the magician. The team at Portbyhan were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Only issue we had was lack of water for a couple of mornings which was sorted out. We went with Jewels Tours from Kent and would certainly go again.

Great hotel and restaurant, room was amazing and food was second to none. Being gluten free, they went over and above to adjust the risotto to make it GF friendly. The hotel staff were all really friendly and understanding to the reason my mum and myself were staying, would definitely recommend here to anyone!
