"I stayed here only after the original property i booked with this owner was not available, at my day of check in. i was given no notice and just told to walk to this nearby property. the property is beautifully decorated. kitchen is shared which is fine, but our room was at the very top floor ( very difficult to carry luggage, and i had two seniors with me) and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. i paid a ridiculous amount of money for this stay, and only stayed one night becuase of the beds, and becuase my senior citizen companions could not manage the stairs. There was no way to contact the host, but after paying $360CAD per night for this place and them cancelling my originally property and not notifying me until i was literally standing on its doorstep, i was not even offered so much as an apology or a free breakfast. very unorganized and unprofessional."

Chamberlain House

"The guesthouse was in a great location; the access to the parking lot was a bit narrow, but you could manage with a little care. I had just parked and was about to contact the owner when she arrived. She was very welcoming and gave me directions to the ancient city walls and several attractions. The communal kitchen had bread, milk, coffee, and tea, which I really appreciated. It was already 8 pm when I arrived, and the supermarket was closed, so I checked out an Italian restaurant that closed at 9 pm. The food was quite good. After dinner, I took a walk to the ancient city walls and was lucky enough to catch the sunset."

Serendipity House

"booked a family room for 2 nights & despite the property being marketed as a family run B&B, it’s more like a hostel! Self check in system is not at all secure, with the entry code for our room being the same as the code for the main entrance so anyone else staying in the property would be able to access our room. The handle to our room was also broken so we didn’t feel safe staying, particularly with children. The house is also situated in an area which didn’t seem particularly tourist friendly, although we didn’t hang around long enough to find out! We were met with an unpleasant odour of damp & animals when we walked in & the room itself was shabby to say the least. Despite the clever photography on ***********, the room was not big enough for a family & the beds had been crammed in to the space, leaving barely enough room to move around. The bathroom had a broken shower head & there were patches of mould on the walls. Needless to say we found alternative accommodation in the area & the owner hadn’t even had the courtesy to respond to my complaint/concerns about the fact that this property is grossly misrepresented on the booking platform! I would not recommend staying here, particularly with a family."
