Residence Inn by Marriott London Kensington

We loved our stay at the Marriott Kensington! It’s such a convenience to have a kitchen in your room especially when you’re staying for a long period of time. Located next to a big tesco so you can get groceries there. Nice staffs! Good breakfast too and it’s free! Laundry is also a plus!!

The elevators were not always working and the one that actually worked was slow and stopping on each floor without evening pressing the floor number to stop. So it was always long wait to get onto the elevators and then eventually to your floor. Also the card to enter my room, each day had to be reset. So often times you had the inconvenience of getting locked out and having to wait on the rather long elevator to go back downstairs to get the card reprogrammed, it was the most inconvenient experience ever. The elevators also had no AC. The breakfast items were the same items daily and very limited options available. I would not recommend staying here for the price, too expensive and the amenities are poor.

We like the hotel comes with breakfast. Kids enjoy having breakfast with great variety of choices. Self served options give kids plenty of choices to build their own plates.

Hotel Review: Ideal for Short Stays, But Needs Improvement for Longer Visits Overall Rating: 7 / 10 We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights, which gave us a comprehensive look at the overall service and facilities. While there were several positive aspects to our stay, a few operational and communication issues prevented it from being a seamless experience. Check-in & Service Communication Prior to our arrival, I had explicitly notified the hotel about our late check-in and requested that our room be prepared in advance—specifically asking for the sofa bed to be opened and made up as a third bed. However, when we arrived at midnight, the receptionist was completely unaware of these requests. The room was not ready, and there wasn't even a pillow for the third bed. We managed for the first night, and after reminding the staff again on the second day, the pillows were finally provided. Unfortunately, having to remind the staff multiple times for basic requests was a recurring theme throughout our stay. Housekeeping Issues Housekeeping was another area where professionalism was lacking. On the 3rd or 4th day, we asked a member of the cleaning staff to clean our room, but due to a language barrier (the staff member spoke no English), communication was quite difficult. When we returned that evening, the room had not been cleaned at all. The next day, we spoke to someone who appeared to be a housekeeping supervisor and gave our room number again. Disappointingly, the room was skipped a second time. It wasn't until the evening of our 6th day that Matina at the front desk stepped in and helped us resolve the issue immediately. We truly appreciated her assistance, but waiting until day 6 for proper room service was frustrating for an 8-night stay. Breakfast Breakfast started off fine, but because we stayed for a long duration, the lack of variety became very noticeable as the same items were served every day. The eggs were particularly disappointing: the boiled eggs were heavily overcooked and inedible, and the scrambled eggs were poor. Other items were fine, but it lacks variation for long-term guests. Room & Amenities The room itself was very nice and spacious enough for three adults to settle in comfortably. The only downside inside the room was the lack of wardrobe/closet space and no designated area or rack for suitcases. Location & Neighborhood The location is excellent. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel with direct links to many key spots. Earl's Court Station is a pleasant 10-minute walk away, and having a large Tesco supermarket right next to the hotel was a major advantage. The neighborhood felt safe and charming. Final Verdict If you are planning a long stay, be prepared to encounter some service and housekeeping friction. However, for a short visit of 3 to 4 days, it is a very solid and convenient option.

The room was nice, like a small 1+1. It was clean. The breakfast was too crowded. Was hard to eveb get a table. Elevator was the real pain. Too slow, too old and no air con inside. . It took nearly 10 minutes to reach the floor once. It even has a dunny note inside indicating how slow elevator and how the appriciate our sense of humor and patience. If you go there ask to have a room in the first or second floor snd use stairs mostly. Nicelocation, close to metro and busses that passes from the best spots.

The hotel only got 3 lifts, and was fully booked but one of the guest lift was out of service, only 1 working but they let us used the staff lift instead. We requested for the hair dryer because the initial one, fuse burned out, but didn't get any replacement until we checked out. Overall the room was clean, but just these two issues. Hope can be improved next time.

I had a great time here. From service to romms everything was above and beyond. Loved it.

Location is perfect. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Easy access to everywhere with bus and underground station just a few mins walk away. There is a huge Tesco Superstore just within 2 mins on foot. The room is spacious compared to other hotel in London. It comes with kitchenette, simple cooking is more than enough. The hotel provide room cleaning everyday, and breakfast is provided daily with the same selection. Overall i would say it’s a great choice if you are looking for spacious room with reasonable price.
