Gili Air Santay Bungalows

Once this was just a couple of Basic Lumbungs and Glass houses. Soundproofing and refurbishing has been carried out and with the addition of 2 new family rooms and 2 new double rooms with solar hot water, aircond etc and the installation of a 1.5 metre deep pool with kiddies pool attached has transformed the place. With new gardens, privacy fencing and landscaping this has become a hidden gem. Kitchen kiosk facilities now open and a small bar near completion. 200 metres from the water and close to the main road through the Island centre it is ideally located for accessing all areas of Gili Air.

Spent 4 nights in GAB. Not once in our days on Gili Air did we find a nicer place than GAB. It is situated in the middle of the island, away from noise and music from the main street bars. Beautiful pool and garden, luxorious rooms and beautiful bathrooms. The staff is very friendly and very competent. Among things they sorted us transfer to Bali with little more than 12 hours notice in high season. The breakfast is great by indonesian standards. You can have breakfast at Chillout Bar on the beach, we tried that once but actually prefered it at GAB. Its was simply better standard. Only minus is that it is difficult to find when you arrive. When you arrive at the docks, from the pier, go straight ahead. Not left or right. Follow the road as it takes a right turn, GAB is on the left about 100 meters after the turn. I have attached a map of Gili Air. This road is also home to some of the (few) better restaurants on Gili Air. Try Rudys, there is a sign on the right on the road from the docks, leading to it. Can truely recommend GAB if you want a luxorious, relaxed stay on Gili Air.

Wunderschönes Außenbad. Ich hatte einen Bungalow mit einer Terrasse zum Pool, einfach nur schön. Ein Himmelbett und ein echt großes Zimmer für einen überschaubaren Preis. Personal total freundlich. Frühstück richtig gut. Es gibt nichts zu beanstanden. Auch wenn es nicht direkt am Strand liegt, ist die Lage trotzdem prima, da das Hotel über einen Strandabschnitt mit Liegen verfügt. Hab meinen Aufenthalt dort sogar verlängert. Würd ich wieder machen.

Ottimo hotel, io e i miei amici abbiamo 34 anni, ci siamo trovati benissimo, a veramente comodo 3 min a piedi dalle spiagge,camere pulite e confortevoli, letti comodi, la colazione ottima ed abbondante, la servono appena fuori dalla camera, ogni stanza dispone di un tavolino dove si ha sempre a disposizione un gallone di acqua calda e fresca da utilizzare ogni momento della giornata. La vista di ogni camera da sulla piscina e il giardino attorno è curato. Affittano le biciclette a tre euro al giorno che consiglio di utilizzare per fare un giretto sull’isola. Non posso dire nulla di negativo anzi anche lo staff è molto cordiale. Tornerei.

Der leider nur 3 tägige Aufenthalt in diesen Bungalows war durch und durch perfekt. Das Personal war überdurchschnittlich nett und zuvorkommend. Das Bad war auch ein Traum. Das Frühstück ist ausgesprochen lecker und wird einem auf der Veranda serviert. Wir wären gerne länger geblieben aber unsere Reiseplanung ließ und nicht mehr als 3 Tage. Bei meinem nächsten Besuch auf Gili Air werde ich auf jeden Fall wieder diesen Bungalow buchen.

Leider hat es unser Zeitplan nicht zugelassen mehr Zeit auf Gili Air zu verbringen. Die Unterkunft war wirklich ein Traum. Die Bungalows sind in einem sehr guten Zustand, schätzungsweise wenige Jahre alt. Ein ungemein saubere Unterkunft mit tollen Personal und total entspannender Poolanlage. Das Bad ist wie bereits öfters beschrieben teilweise im Freien, was wir allerdings nicht als störend empfunden haben. Sehr zu empfehlen, Preis/Leistung für Februar m.M. sehr gut!
