I discovered that the mattress protector underneath my made bed was heavily stained, covered with hair of various lengths, birch seeds, dust, and general filth. It was evident this protector had not been changed or cleaned in a long time. It was a "Superior Room" no 4. There was no phone in the room to contact reception, and the front desk appeared unstaffed at that hour, so I had no way to report the issue. I had to layer bedding over the dirty mattress protector just to have a barrier between it and myself. The situation made me feel physically sick. Additionally, the insect screen on the window had multiple holes, preventing me from opening it for fresh air during the night. In the morning, I noticed that housekeeping appears to be outsourced, with no visible supervision from hotel management, which likely contributes to the quality issues. I reached out to management in Finnish and English and they have shown no interest in my feedback.

We went to the spa with a group of friends and ate at the hotel's restaurant Kanerva. The food was first class, beautifully presented, tasty and very filling! We ate salmon soup, goat cheese salad, and pizza. The spa was also a nice experience, the saunas were really nice and there were a variety of pools.
