Sure Hotel by Best Western Lockerbie

Stayed in the Sure hotel last night as part of a large group celebrating an anniversary and was not impressed. On arrival at 14.15 we found the hotel in darkeness with a message on reception saying it was unmanned and call the number on the sheet for assistance, called the number and was informed in a very unfriendly manner that check in was from 3pm and nobody was available to see us or open the bar so we could get a drink after our 3hour drive. We joined several other members of our group already waiting in a side room till someone arrived just befor 3pm. Receptionist was not friendly at all but we eventually got our room key and went up to the smallest hotel room i have ever stayed in, not impressed for £150 a night (breakfast not included). The bed was actually to small for me and my feet were dangling over the bottom ( i am only 5'8"), god help anybody 6 foot or over. To be fair the mattres was comfortable even though it was very short and the rooms decor and facilities were good. Had a shower only to find the shower gel holder was empty, this i reported to reception later only to be told " we dont fill the ones in the shower there is a bottle left on the windowsill". Not much good to the average customer who gets into the shower expecting shower gel to be in the holder in the shower that then has to get out again soaking wet to fetch a bottle from the other side of the bathroom. Again receptionist abrupt and had a couldnt give a damn attitude. Most of our group were complaining about the unfriendly welcome we all recieved. Sound proofing was none existent in any of the rooms in our area of the hotel and you can hear every movement of the people either side and above you right down to coughing and conversation, no privacy at all.. Again at check out time there was nobody available at reception and in fact the hotel was in darkness again with the same note as when we arrived on the reception desk. For the money this hotel charges for a room they should be ashamed of their staffs attitude and the poor service offered in general and we will not be using this hotel ever again.

Management is awful saw the owner of the place screaming at a younger employee who was very upset by it. Rooms were filthy and when I called to complain I got hung up on Place with such potential just ran by an awful character.

Lovely stay thank you very much, great welcome , great room , everything you need and was very clean, sat outside in the sunshine with chilled beers in the afternoon, dinner was good, Erin was so helpful all of the time, in every which way, she's very wonderful and attentive, our breakfast was cooked to perfection too, on our way to a wedding down south , from up north , so this was the perfect place to break the journey up thanks again to Erin .

A pleasant stop over Last minute booking as I was driving north. Shortly after received a courtesy call checking for arrival time. Very large car park. Close to the motorway (no noise issues) Very polite receptionist. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. I have zero complaints from my overnight stop.

We visited for a 2 night stay to attend a family funeral and to spend time with family who live near the hotel. Overall we had a great stay. We were warmly greeted and shown to our room by the staff, room 20, and found the large room to be comfortable and nicely decorated. Most importantly the room was nice and warm given the outside temperatures were sub zero. The super king size bed was comfy. The bathroom was clean, warm and nicely decorated. Staff were always friendly and polite. We did not eat at the hotel as we had our family living nearby however when we return to visit Lockerbie we will chose this hotel again, thanks for a great comfortable stay.

Honest hotel. Warm welcome, free upgrade as they were quiet. Good room, comfy bed. Huge bathroom with Roll Top Bath and sep Shower. Could do with some hooks for towels but hey for 1 night it's fine. Bar area very welcoming with log fire lit, dinner just as good as we remembered and breakfast again cooked to order. Pots of coffee not someone wandering around with a jug and fresh water as part of the juice line up. We find all the staff including Glen the owner very personable. It's location works for us.
