"Honestly, the place is stunning. I stayed in a small separate house and loved it — super peaceful, jungle sounds, lots of greenery, river nearby. Service is great, and the café-restaurant is really delicious. Overall, the vibe is amazing. But the kayak/SUP firefly tour — not it. I specifically asked how many fireflies there would be, they said “a million,” which… yeah, no. It took almost an hour just to get there, barely any proper instructions from the guide, constant rushing, and the whole thing felt messy and unorganized. Instead of relaxing, it turned into a bit of a struggle. So yeah — everything else is great, just skip that tour."

Loboc Nipa Hut Village ★

"Very beautiful and tranquil location. Room was pretty basic, with one mattress and a wall fan. Could be quite hot during the day but fan does the job pretty well at night. You have to bring your own toiletries ‘cause they don’t provide any but bath towels. Service was really nice, the owner was very friendly and accommodating. Even gave us discounts on some of the river activities. You could also rent a motorcycle which is a must to tour Bohol. Wifi only works at the lobby/dining area, which is fine, cause mobile data works pretty well. Overall, very good stay, very beautiful river which is right in front of your accommodation."

"Lovely family owned Inn. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The accommodation was very nice, gorgeous outside area by the Loboc lake, the swimming pool was lovely a fresh. I enjoyed a complimentary, traditional Longsilog breakfast, which was delicious, coffee and fruit to accompany. I also ate dinner there both evenings and was nor disappointed. I chose the smaller room, double bed, shelves and private bathroom, it was small just right for me, the bathroom was small but functional, with good shower pressure, unfortunately the power went one night, meaning the air con cut out, but the second night was not issue. The WiFi also dropped out a few times unfortunately, but I downloaded some things at the reception and it's no issue if you like to disconnect. The value for money was excellent, I rented a scooter for the day, they offered tours for lots of local attractions too. They offered free refills of water and complimentary shampoo and soap. The location was great. I'd definitely recommend. "

"November 2023 We ran into Fox and the Firefly on Youtube (Bohol is Awesome). We fell in love with it, when we watch a video about it being re-built after typhoon Odette. Typhoon Odette destroyed all of Cebu and Bohol. We admired the resilience of the people, most especially the resilience of the owners, workers and friends of Fox and the Firefly. They all chipped in to rebuild the place. There are only 11 cottages - clean, simple, and eco friendly. Reminder - NO air-conditioning, just fans; but temperature is so pleasant you really don't need air-conditioning. The restaurant, Fox and Fables serves the best food. Guests from other hotels nearby come to Food and Fables for their meals. That tells you something! We tried a different dish everyday and each time, they exceeded our expectations. So much better than 5-star hotels and reasonably priced. The place has a variety of activities to offer - paddle boarding (different tours); mountain biking ( a must if you want to see the lay out of Bohol), kayaking, firefly tours at night, or just simply taking a stroll in the tree-lined village. Everyone in this place is friendly, warm, and willing to help guests in any kind of situation. Fox and the Firefly is mostly always full, so book early. But don't give-up, give them a call. That's what we did and we got lucky, we got the last room!"

"Great place. Stayed for one night, but you need to stay here for a few days. Nature and silence all around. The houses are clean, the whole territory is well-kept. Here you can order various activities, for example, a tour of fireflies, SUP riding, kayaking, etc. The kitchen is open and you can order a delicious dinner. Thank you for your hospitality 🙂"

Upon check-out, we forgot to claim our 500deposit, I was amazed that the receptionist looked for us to return the deposit.
