Mogi Boutique Hotel

Really lovely hotel set in the mountainside with a jungle like atmosphere with the beautiful gardens overlooking a great Mountain landscape view. We stayed here for one night on our way from Kruger to St. Lucia and had a wonderful time. The staff were very friendly and the food was also very good. The gardens are absolutely beautiful to wake up to with a cup of coffee and the sunrise. Would stay here again. Rooms are also nice. We had two rooms which have some nice privacy with a private section of a patio overlooking the gardens. Thanks so much for a nice stay!

We did a stop-over here. Nice place near the main road but in theory still quiet and with a nice surrounding. Very nice staff. Rooms like on the pictures. For us the situation in the restaurant was very annoying and a reason not to come again. Several guests use this ( small) place as working-space and for their stupid loud video conferences. Although it is related to the misbehavior of the guests there was no action from the service on those situations at dinner and breakfast.

Mogi is under relatively new ownership/management and is now run by two delightful sisters under whom the property is thriving. It's hard to think of something I didn't love - ok, maybe have a few pillow options including something a bit firmer. The internet connection wasn't great but I think that is typical of the area. And the road up to the lodge is only paved for the initial ascent so can be tricky for smaller cars, particularly in the rain. That said, it is definitely worth the drive. We arrived in the early evening and check in was quick and efficient. I had a deluxe room on the top floor of the lodge facing the road. It was HUGE with a partial kitchen (fridge, microwave, kettle, etc.) with nice coffee and a French press (and not Nescafe), rusks, and an assortment of tea. There was also milk in the fridge for coffee. There was a comfy couch and a huge bed. There is a ton of storage space which would be great for those doing a longer-term stay and a massive bathroom with both a shower and a bathtub. The provided toiletries are of high quality. The shower is interesting as it is open on two sides which does mean that you tend to splash water about. My shower wasn't draining properly the first morning but they fixed it while I was out during the day. I appreciated how attentive staff were to details like this. For a relatively small lodge, the food is really very good. Breakfast is included and there were a range of options. They also serve dinner for a reasonable price and some interesting options including good choices for vegetarians. I was more impressed with my meal there than I was with the one I had at the Velvet Monkey just down the street. Everything is of high quality here from the food and ingredients to the sheets and toiletries. The rates are very reasonable and very good value considering the quality of the rooms and service. The location is very central to the attractions in Ezulwini and Malkerns. Did I mention the views from the hotel are stunning? I've also stayed at Mantenga Lodge which is similarly priced and in a lovely location but I would opt for Mogi as the rooms are much nicer.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour ! La chambre était spacieuse, propre et bien aménagée. Il y avait possibilité de manger sur place, avec des repas de bonnes qualités. Le personnel était accueillant et sympathique. Nous recommandons vivement !

Das einzige Hotel auf unserer Reise in dem wir Bedenken wegen der Sicherheit hatten; Frei zugänglich, nicht mal ein Zaun drumrum während alle anderen Häuser in der Nachbarschaft Zaun, Stacheldraht, Hunde, ect.hatte. Fanden wir komisch. Die Türen die direkt von außen in die Zimmer führten hätten mit einem Tritt aufgetreten werden können. Frühstück war gut, das Essen im Restaurant nicht so wie wir es seither gewohnt waren. Aber es ist ja nicht Südafrika sondern Eswatini. Auch das Personal etwas reserviert hier. In den Zimmern Teppichboden der schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist. Die Anlage ums Hotel jedoch super schön in die Landschaft eingepasst. Das hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

We hadden een mooie kamer met aparte woonkamer en slaapkamer. Fijn, want het was best fris en vooral erg nat buiten toen wij er waren. De kamer had ook een goede badkamer met een groot bad en een aparte douche. Het restaurant was buiten en overdekt. Er liggen dekentjes klaar voor als het fris is en zo nodig gaan de wanden dicht (tentdoek). Het ontbijt was goed, veel keuze in lekkere (warme) dingen. Voor het diner was er genoeg keuze en het was ook lekker. Het zwembadje lag vol blaadjes en werd op ons verzoek schoongemaakt. Helaas sloeg het weer toen om en hebben we daar niet van kunnen genieten. Het hotel heeft een mooie tuin. Het hotel ligt bovenaan een smal pad met genoeg parkeerruimte.
