Very good experience ahead of a visit to a company located next to the University. Plenty of parking, easily found on Waze and not far off the A55. Plenty of parking, efficient check in and comfortable double room with WiFi good enough to watch a bit of football on my phone. Lovely food I had in the bar with San Miguel on draft, very good full Welsh breakfast served the next morning. Local and family run, in my opinion much better value for me than the big chain operators.

This hotel is fantastic! We only booked one night wish it had been more - the staff are excellent nothing is too much trouble! The room was clean and sooo comfy - tastefully decorated, towels very fluffy. We only ate breakfast but being gluten free they catered for my bread and added some extras so I did not feel cheated in any way. its a gem of a place would highly recommend.

We have recently come back from a 2 night stay at The Slate after booking this for a walk up Mount Snowdon. It was around 15 minute drive from where we parked and was easy enough to find. We had a lovely time, the room was clean and had everything we needed. The people were kind and accommodating and the food was amazing! The only thing I would say is they only serve breakfast between 7-8.30am so we ended up having breakfast elsewhere to allow our selves to have a lie in. We would definitely stay here again! Lovely little hotel, my room was very nice and clean and tidy. It was curry night on a Monday and I enjoyed the chicken korma I had there. The receptionist (I didn’t catch her name and receptionist isn’t really accurate because in addition to checking people in she also serves at the bar and brought food out.) was very friendly and I would very much recommend this hotel. The price was very reasonable as well.

This was our second visit. We stayed 6 years ago and we came back for our aniversary. Ben and his team were warm and welcoming. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food is amazing especially the beef brisket. We will be back soon.........

Really enjoyed the visit and Christmas menu, fantastic duo of beef main and good deserts. Nice service. Worth the price, which is reasonable given the size of portions and clear quality of ingredients. You leave feeling well fed, relaxed and that you’ve had value for money .

Lovely little pub / restaurant / bar - a great find and such great hosts. Ben was a really great host and couldn’t do enough for us. Really nice clean room - just right for the two of us, plenty of towels and toiletries and a nice selection of tea and coffees. Bed was just right and I wish we could have stayed longer to try the food - which looked and smelt delicious! Overall a great stay and I hope we will be able to come back. Highly recommended

Lovely hotel, stayed for 3 nights, room was lovely and clean, very comfy bed and a good shower. Good choice for breakfast all freshly cooked, and excellent service. Ate in the bar 1 night was a limited menu, but the fish pie was amazing , and ate in the restaurant once, good choice of food and a specials menu too. The staff are lovely, all very friendly, a little gem of a hotel, and was a good base for the activities we had planned. Would highly recommend and would stay again if was in the area.
