I stayed here with my family and pet for one night in May. The area is lovely, although we had a little trouble finding the pub/accommodation. Staff were friendly. The accommodation unfortunately wasn’t quite as some of the reviews suggested. Downstairs had a very strong smell of cigarettes. The rooms were ok, clean most importantly. But the walls are paper thin. In the bathroom we could clearly hear people arguing in the next room and that night there was a big argument there. Our upstairs room was next to the entrance coming up the stairs, and the door slammed shut every time someone came up/went downstairs, which was quite loud in the evening and which our pet found stressful. We chose this place as they allowed pets. The breakfast was freshly cooked and was delicious, I agree with the other guests here.

A wonderful two night stay in pleasant surroundings 5 mins drive from centre of Canterbury. Friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us to make our stay enjoyable. Room was exceptionally clean and breakfast excellent. Pub was nice and food there also good. An ideal place to stay for a city break or to explore the Kentish coast. Great value for great price. Wonderful atmospheric with reasonable prices for both food and drinks!Enjoyed every moment on this exhilarating place with wonderful staff,so very friendly!Was so happy to be there and time flee by so quickly.The entertaining bar man a cider tly threw some straw's on the floor when I was ordering my cocktail and I even helped him pick them up! Oh what a laugh we had and such a breather from my wrongful admission to Dt Martins,put in by Mr Webb who didn't realise that by having CBtt I would be happier and focused and enjoy every moment for what it is! Thank you Evenhill for making me realise!

Nice Inn about 4 miles from Canterbury. Basic but perfectly adequate rooms. Very clean. Friendly welcome and good food. Bar was a bit quiet, which was a shame but reasonable drinks options.Pretty good value for money & would certainly stay again if in the area.

The loveliest pub with rooms that I think I have ever stayed at. The welcome and the check in was friendly, swift and given all the information that we needed, how to access the rooms in the barn conversion at the back, plenty of parking directly outside. Close by to Howletts, (which was the reason to stay there), perfectly situated for Canterbury as well. Room was spotlessly clean, breakfast freshly cooked to order and so fresh. We also ate in the restaurant and spent some time in the bar, would be rude not to !!! Food was delicious and well cooked, enough choice for everyone, and I suggest you try the biscoff slice for dessert.....all the staff were friedly welcming and chatty and a huge asset to this wonderful venue Thank you

Very easy to find and a great location. The room was nice and clean and we had a very good nights sleep. The staff in the pub were AMAZING! Jess was really welcoming and made us feel extremely comfortable, even helping us after we had checked out. The food was excellent, would definitely recommend the pork belly! Overall, a brilliant place to stay and we would definitely return if we were in the area.

My wife and I called in for lunch on our way back home from Canterbury. It had been a while since we last visited and we received a warm welcome as usual. The food menu had some unusual items compared to standard pub grub so I would recommend the apple and celeriac soup as a starter, something new for my taste buds. The whole meal was very tasty so compliments to the chef and the service from Jeff and Jess was top drawer. RS from Broadstairs

The Evenhill is a quiet, cosy, friendly pub. Because they accept doggy guests, we had stayed there several times in the past, but since then the pub is under new management and Suzanne, Jack and all the staff are really lovely. The atmosphere is very relaxed and personal. The Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and delicious. The accommodation was comfortable and very clean. We and our dog were made to feel very welcome. We arrived as strangers and left as friends. We (a couple in our 50s with labrador) loved it and are already planning our next visit.

Stayed for couple of nights & had a really good stay. Room was in separate accommodation block & was very clean & comfortable. Food was excellent & staff friendly, informative & helpful. Situated in lovely part of the country. Definitely will be going back for another enjoyable stay.
