SMIR International Hotel ★★★★

📍 No. 40 Gulou East Street, Distrik Yaodu, Linfen

"I book a double bed room for 3 nights but the room that is given is old and musky. The bathroom is not as advertised. The floor is flooded wet from water from shower which is not hand held shower in the bath tub. Water stain and sticky carpet. The staff change us to a different room which is not much better. Wish I have taken photos of the bathroom to show future customers."

"The hotel service was excellent, especially the shuttle service. The driver and front desk staff were both very friendly and helpful. The only minor flaw was the cleanliness of the room. The sheets were stained, and the room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke."

The spacious living room, fully smart home features, a piano and guitar in the room, ambient lighting, a smart toilet, and a smart vanity are all excellent. I was truly satisfied. An owner who enjoys motorcycles and plays piano and guitar can't be too bad (the smart toilet even comes with disposable toilet seat covers; hopefully, they'll use waterproof ones next time. Also, the smart toilet is so smart it keeps turning on by itself)."

Ancient City Courtyard Hotel, Linfen, Shanxi, China

"I can say this is the best hotel experience I’ve had so far in China. Truly unique luxury at a very reasonable price. Of course you get a top notch service as expected from a 5 star hotel. Our booking included activities such as afternoon tea, a private photography session and evening cocktails. If you are visiting Linfen/Shanxi and surroundings to visit real historic sites, you will appreciate the work put in the design of this hotel. This hotel is the perfect combination between new and old, combining modern hotel qualities such as sound proofing, smart lighting, air conditioning and bathroom amenities with historic Qing dynasty exterior. The building exteriors have been moved and rebuilt from nearby villages."

"I believe you could find better hotel at this price. Since there is no metro in this city, the location doesn’t really matter too much. But this is near shopping mall that is within 15 mins of walking distance. The hotel is quite old and rundown though. Strong cigarette smell in the room."

"This newly opened hotel is spotlessly clean, with no strange smells in the rooms and minimal dust. The staff are incredibly friendly and responsive; any requests are handled quickly. The breakfast spread is fantastic, offering a wide variety of both Western and Chinese options, and the food tastes great. Overall, the experience far exceeded my expectations, comparable to a five-star hotel."

"We stayed at the hotel for three consecutive nights. We originally booked two nights, but later added one more night so we wouldn't have to move rooms. The hotel upgraded our room for free, which was very thoughtful. There were four of us elderly people, and we were leaving around 3 PM to catch our train, but the hotel extended our check-out time to 2 PM, which was very considerate. The hotel is very close to Gulou Street and Shenglong International Plaza, making it very convenient for sightseeing and dining. It was a very satisfying experience."

"For the convenience of traveling, I chose the seven-day chain store. It is convenient to enter and exit the street. The bedding is comfortable. The shower conversion head in the bathroom is not easy to use. It rained all night on the first night. The window sill was noisy. Fortunately, the weather was good later. I was not affected again. In general, it was not bad. Because I have to catch the night bus, I will continue to rent for one night, and the train station will take a few minutes."

"The moment you enter the room, you feel warm and comfortable. You feel right at home. What's most impressive is the interior design: modern, simple, luxurious, and intelligent. The Xiaodu voice assistant allows you to control almost every function in the room, which is fantastic! The bedroom, shower, toilet, and washroom are logically separated, each area conveniently positioned so it doesn't interfere with the other. The hotel's modern self-service laundry room and fitness room are fantastic. You can even work out while washing and drying clothes, without interrupting anything. The breakfast buffet was also fantastic, highly recommended. In fact, I especially want to commend the hotel staff for their attentiveness, dedication, and dedication to their service. This is the most commendable hotel service I've encountered during my entire trip. Manxin Hotel is truly memorable. I'll definitely stay at Manxin Hotel again on my next trip."
