Hotels in Yulong Snow Mountain Scenic Area, Lijiang

I came to Yunnan alone during the off-season and got upgraded to a larger room at this hotel in Yuhu Village for free! I am really satisfied with the hotel environment and service! You can see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from the room during the day and the stars at night. The housekeeper at the front desk was really considerate. She would remind us of the sunrise time the next day so that we could watch the sunrise over the Golden Mountain from the room. She would also send us a message to remind us to wear more clothes as it was cold the next day. All in all, it was a very satisfying stay and I will definitely come again!

Several days before check-in, we started to contact and communicate with the guests to inquire about their preferences. After check-in, the butler provided personal and thoughtful service. After arrival, we upgraded the room without saying anything. We can see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain directly from the sofa. What a fairy-tale plot! There are also tie-dye, bonfire party, afternoon tea, light hiking in the snow mountain, and guided tour of Rizhao Jinshan. It's so rich! Recommended! Recommended!

I’ve just returned to my home country, and I’m already missing my stay at Aromatic Hotel! The location is perfect—nestled right at the foot of Yulong Mountain, where you can witness the breathtaking golden sunrise every morning. The hospitality at Aromatic Hotel is exceptional. Even before our arrival, they contacted us with helpful details about check-in and provided valuable information about Yuhu Village. As female travelers, we truly appreciated how attentive, caring, and thoughtful they were throughout our stay. The most amazing surprise was the room upgrade! They gave us a spacious room with stunning mountain views. It was warm and cozy, thanks to the staff who made sure the heater was on before we arrived. The bed and pillows were incredibly fluffy, and we had the most restful sleep. A special highlight of the hotel was the adorable cats and kittens—they added such a charming and homely touch to the experience. If you’re visiting the area, I highly recommend staying at Aromatic Hotel. With its amazing location, thoughtful hospitality, and cozy atmosphere, it’s truly an unforgettable place to stay.

It was my first time staying at this B&B located in Yuhu Village at the foot of the snow-capped mountains. The experience was amazing. The entire B&B is built of stone, and I was amazed at first sight. The overall design of the B&B is very artistic. The room is very clean and tidy, and the toiletries are also excellent. After check-in, they also provide afternoon tea, coffee, and desserts. If the weather is good, you can sit in their courtyard, sip coffee, and feel the breeze at the foot of the snow-capped mountains. It feels very comfortable. The owner also helped us with a lot of pitfalls in Lijiang. They also provide airport pick-up and drop-off services. The location is right in Yuhu Square, so it is super convenient to take the bus. It was a super, super, wonderful stay. Recommended.

The entire room was thoughtfully designed, with air conditioning, electric blankets, towel and underwear drying racks, separate wet and dry areas, a smart toilet, and a laundry room. The hotel's breakfast of rice noodles, porridge, and milk was all excellent. This B&B is most famous for its rooftop terrace and stairs, offering stunning views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Yuhu Village. It's so stunning, you can even take photos right from the hotel. The hotel service was also excellent. The housekeeper was always kind enough to ask about our stay and any areas for improvement. Before we left, they helped us negotiate with the security guard at the village entrance to arrange for a car to pick us up. Assistance with luggage upon check-in and check-out is standard service. Overall, I was very satisfied and highly recommend staying here.

Opening the curtains revealed stunning snow-capped mountains. We were incredibly lucky to witness a sky full of stars during the evening stargazing activity, and then woke up to the breathtaking 'Golden Mountain' phenomenon (sun illuminating the peaks) in the morning. Perhaps due to the high altitude, we didn't sleep very well at night, and unfortunately, my child experienced altitude sickness the next day. However, the hotel's service was prompt and responsive. Overall, it's a worthwhile experience. Regarding the BoJue Travel Photography Dual Image Service: simple makeup costs 100/person, and additional photos are 80/photo after the first five. I'm not sure if this pricing is considered high, but the photo editing was so extensive my own family couldn't even recognize me, hahahaha. For the one-time welcome fruit and daily mini-bar soft drinks in the room: I'm not a fan of overly sweet beverages, and the welcome fruit was just a few winter dates and two oranges. Happy Hour Snacks (Buffet): The afternoon tea was quite good, with buffet options.

The hotel is in a great location, with the photo-taking spot of Rizhao Jinshan right at the door. Although the RV is small, it is very comfortable for two people to live in. There is also a large lawn at the door, as well as children's entertainment facilities, which is really great.

Once in a while, we have the rare privilege of staying somewhere that exemplifies all that is good about travel. Nguluko is one such place. As the photos suggest, the hotel is beautifully designed. It’s a zen-like, modern annex, connected to Liusan’s generational home. What a curious privilege it is, to be able to join her family around the home’s traditional Naxi courtyard for a bonfire dance, before retreating upstairs to a room of luxurious comforts, including an actual Dyson hairdryer and electronic toilet. But more important is what the photos cannot capture. In an age of faceless travel, dominated by flavourless hotel chains and mass-produced group tours, it’s rare to be able to feel a connection with folks eager to share a little slice of their life with you. Whether it be a morning stroll around the old village, a sharing session on Naxi culture and Dongba script, or even the aforementioned bonfire dance (replete with lived-in details like the family’s aging hams dangling off the awnings), it harkens back to a more serendipitous style of travel that made me smile. Even meals (all-inclusive!) are a chance to experience local culture. Locally foraged bracken and morels make an appearance, as do different varieties of liangfen, and Lijiang-style baba. There’s also the most moreish chicken hotpot — which I was going to drive out of the way to Luguzhen to try — but which she ended up serving for dinner on the second night. I’m quite obsessive when it comes to food, and yet everything I wanted to try here, except perhaps the rainbow trout and yak, were cooked up and served. Some small things could be improved: many stairways lack railings for the mobility impaired, and the ‘October’ room has an odd bathroom design where the toilet cubicle barely has space to close when one is seated. But such issues pale in comparison to the overall experience. Perhaps the biggest compliment I can give it is that in a world filled with a million wonderful destinations, this is one place I would choose to return to.

Facilities: Everything in the hotel is excellent, comparable to many five-star hotels. Cleanliness: The room was immaculately clean, and the view was stunning; it was easy to get lost in the scenery while just sitting there. Environment: The decor was clearly thoughtful, with many of the decorations created by the owner and his family, creating a truly artistic atmosphere. It's also very close to tourist attractions! Service: The owner was very chatty, and Aze was also very helpful. The breakfast noodles and rice noodles were the best I've had in Yunnan so far. There was also free tiramisu dessert in the afternoon, and you could make your own tea and chat with friends from all over the world. Overall, the environment was very comfortable and definitely worth a second visit. I won't go into much more detail; go and experience it for yourself!

We stayed at Stone Hotel 石头厝 for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it! I am so glad we discovered it after searching on Trip.com for quite a while. We were looking for a hotel in Lijiang that is quiet and peaceful, with views of Yulong Snow Mountain, and has the modern comforts of a luxurious boutique hotel. The hotel is located outside of Lijiang town, approximately 30-40min drive, and right next to Yuhu Village. If we needed to go anywhere, the hotel provides a car drop-off service in a luxurious MPV. It’s also easy to call a car on DiDi. The room is beautifully designed with elements of copper and wood, blending modern and traditional. The bed and pillows are among the most comfortable I’ve slept in during my travels. Being a city girl, I’m delighted with the Dyson hairdryer, Marshall speaker, and Aesop hand soap! The free mini fridge is stocked with beer, Perrier sparkling water, soft drinks, and if not enough, just pop over to the restaurant where the fridge and fruit bar is open and free all day! The amazing variety of fruits are the sweetest I’ve tasted, all grown locally. Even the nuts are sweet, I think they roast them in some sweet milk. The restaurant serves a variety of dishes but we had hotpot every dinner just because the soup is so delicious and the meats so tender. At dinner, the Naxi brothers will drink a toast and sing for every guest as their way of welcoming the guests and treating them as friends. If you dare to, try their local herbal/fruit alcohol (very strong!) We also love that for breakfast, they serve a selection of local side dishes which we enjoyed trying. Their concierge/front desk team welcomed us warmly even before arriving (via WeChat), and supported us very well throughout our stay. The whole experience of coordinating airport pickup and booking their various activities and amenities (afternoon tea, evening drink, dinner, car) was seamless and fast. Before going out, the front desk staff always makes sure that we are well equipped for the day with water, umbrella, oxygen, chocolates. All the staff are always happy and friendly, making us feel like we are friends because the service is so personalized. We chatted with many of them and had the chance to learn a little about each of them, their lives and their culture. They know that we love playing with their dogs and the little lamb DuoDuo, and gave us many chances to play with them and even feed little DuoDuo. One can feel that they love their work there. After leaving, we are still missing little DuoDuo, the amazing staff and warm hospitality, and the comfortable room. I’ve traveled to many places, and this is one of the rare times where I miss the place and the people so much. We highly recommend Stone Hotel 石头厝 to anyone visiting Lijiang! And I hope we have to chance to come back and stay with them again.
