Van der Valk Hotel Leusden - Amersfoort

總得來説，都還是不錯的一家酒店

Overall is an "ok" hotel. Some things i would have liked/done in another way, but it's not my business so :) I'll point out some good things about the hotel: - Food was nice - I like the layout and carpet in the rooms - Nice shower - Nice TV and a cofee machine - Having a balcony is great - Toilet paper: good quality - I thought the check out was at 12 and the staff was kind enough to make no fuss about checking out at 11:50. Thank you! I'll point out some minor issues i found: - TV broadcast function doesn't work (at least for iPhone) - Bed confort was much worse comparing to other chains like NH or Mercure: a little thin topper on top of a "beaten" bed. I wouldn't endure a third night. - Toilet seat: given dutch people are on average the tallest population in the world i can't understand why Van der Valk opted for such a small size. - Bathroom sink: Unless these bathrooms have been renovated by very small people, i can't understand why a 1.75m person has to bend halfway to reach the sink. - 1 lift for 6 floors+PH. Understood why there's a sofa at each elevator door. - The most disatisfying: An AC system that is bottlenecked ＞ i surely understand the why. I simply don't understand such a low temperature as standard. And the AC doesn't blow nothing, simply starts, makes some noise, and shuts down. - One of our lights was broken: can happen.... I wasn't going to write a review, but you guys kept spamming me for one...

one of my towels was dirty (ash or black dust) there were a lot of cigarettes on the balcony outdated/dark furniture.

Room 321 cleanliness poor. Tea tray surface where cardboard cups inverted was very dirty! Room service staff make a cursory visit (arrived afternoon when we were there and 2 people whizzed round in less than 5 minutes). Bathroom towels never dry out as there are no towel rails - only 2 small notch hooks. TV - Not one English channel. Instructions not in English so did not understand! No information folder in room. Bar experience bizarre. Glass had to be brought from Restaurant. Expected to buy vouchers in advance? Did not bother - took glass from bar into dining room. Dinner: One choice only set menu! No bread when asked for with soup. Chips and salad every evening - to accompany meat. Breakfast: Excellent choice of hot or cold. Reception: Unable to provide correct information ref. local bus to lovely Amersfoort. Would have sent us 20 mins in wrong direction! If you need local bus - walk 10/12 mins. to Bedriventerrein De Horst Bus Stop. Excellent service card payments only. Euro 1.55 single. Disappointing service.

Lovely room and bathroom very large and well appointed. Cleanliness excellent and quiet. Food OK - My partner likes a full English and eggs were either scrambled or boiled, no baked beans, hash browns or sausages, the bacon was smoked and the potato option was very spicy so a little disappointing. I like scrambled egg with tomato and mushrooms and the tomatoes were covered in cheese! and the mushrooms wet and spicy! All other breakfast options were plentiful and good. The main meals were of limited choice and the quality went from good on the 1st evening to poor on the third and last evening. The soups were far too salty and a bread roll would have been appreciated. The accompaniment to the main meal was always chips and salad which were good and plentiful but some vegetables would have been good. Staff service was always good and friendly.
