This is the real Italian Holiday Experience. I booked through BA Holidays but upgraded room and meal plan directly with Messapia. Booking directly with the Hotel is better and they can arrange airport tranfers. Daniele is in charge of Reservations and he was not only efficient but had a great sense of humour ! The staff over my two weeks were all friendly and made me feel at home even though I was virtually the only non - Italian. Most staff speak English. Reception at night is usually staffed by Paulo who is happy to make a coffee for anyone who goes out early and misses breakfast. I chose Half Board selecting the evening meal which for a small extra included wine, beer, soft drinks etc. Fish is the staple often served with pasta in a variety of delicious sauces. The food, wine, service, ambience etc were all great. I was there during the summer animation programme which was varied and widely joined in by all ages. Nezma made a particular effort for me as I don't speak Italian. She dances, sings and is generally the life of the party. The pool and terraces are kept immaculately clean. The chief lifeguard Marco was always happy to help move sun beds etc. The cleaning staff did a great job every day. The Spa is run by Carmelina who I recommend highly for a relaxing massage. I could write so much more about the Hotel, Staff, surrounding area, and Puglia in general BUT I recommneded you go and find out for yourself. You will not be disappointed. MESSAPIA is like Christmas Eve: even if you pretend carelessness you expect a lot. Maybe something disappoints you, other surprises you. But there is always Antimo at the Libeccio’s Bar who never fails a shot (!), never intrusive but always attentive, present and kind but never inappropriate, excellent in his job with style and creativity. As Christmas Eve, you end up missing him and his staff until the successive year.

The grounds and public spaces are attractive. Town a short walk away. Apt. was immaculate but very unattractive. Looked like a dorm room. Waitstaff extremely nice. Front desk staff was rude. I was traveling Solo and my rental car broke down. They did nothing to help me but rather made me feel like a nuisance. Told me dinner was at 8. At 10:30 I was still not served. Would not refund my 50 EU. If you want to feel like a pecial guest, don't go to Messapia.

Ottimo hotel & Rrsort a pochi km da Leuca, stanze abbastanza accoglienti, personale della struttura educato e disponibile. Buono il ristorante dell’hotel. Eccellente l’animazione con ragazzi gentili ed infaticabili. Consigliatissimo!!

Sono stata ospite di questo resort per il secondo anno, come insegnante shiatsu della scuola Himawari di Monza per gli ospiti, e già che il Messapia h&r offra questa esperienza gratuita aperta a tutti, la dice lunga sulla sua unicità. La location è strategiaca perché è un ottimo appoggio per moltissime spiagge meravigliose e per visitare ad es. Lecce, Otranto, Gallipoli... La struttura è molto bella, con una piscina di acqua di mare (cosa rara) e offre una vista incantevole su tutta Leuca e il blu del suo mare. Il resort nonostante sia grande è ben organizzato e silenzioso, insomma un posto dove potersi rilassare. La reception aperta 24h, pulizie impeccabili e quotidiane. Ogni appartamento ha a disposizione uno spazio esterno. Lo staff è cortese, dal sig. Maurizio ad Oleg con i suoi strepitosi cocktail e al personale. Un plauso particolare va a Fabrizio, il responsabile di sala, che ti accoglie con gentilezza, disponibilità e professionalità e rende la permanenza al ristorante un momento piacevole ed è una di quelle persone che ti entra nel cuore e allo staff di animazione Maragú che con serietà, allegria e simpatia intrattengono gli ospiti con baby club mai banale come le attività sostenibili, la bellissima voce di Negma, la competenza di Simone e per ultima ma sicuramente non meno importante la responsabile dell' animazione Francesca: con una forza esplosiva, il suo sorriso contagioso e le sue idee per un intrattenimento originale. Ringrazio in particolare Francesca per avermi aiutata a coinvolgere gli ospiti e permettere a molte persone di conoscere e praticare shiatsu! Un aspetto molto positivo dello staff Maragù è che l' animazione non è per nulla invadente e molto rispettosa anche di chi è in vacanza solo per godersi il meritato relax. Non posso che chiudere con una parola che riassuma questa settimana: il Messapia h&r?! UNA SCICCHERIAAAA!!!
