Booked this joint for six nights. After 1,100km train journey got there late (after 9pm) which was not my fault (delay at Marseille due to passenger illness) but which led to me being locked out of hotel, having to book with the Ibis for the night, and then the cancellation of rest of stay. There then followed many days of dispute between me, *********** & the hotel. Both the hotel & *********** were extremely polite (it seems to be all the rage these days) but ultimately they were obsessed with procedure not the problem. I never did get to the bottom of it all but I got most of my cash back thanks to Joshua at *********** who understood the farce that had unfolded. Ultimately, although there are mostly favourable reviews for this wonderful independent hotel there is also clearly a problem with some clients being locked out. I don’t know what the owner’s problem is but perhaps he could just get a KEYSAFE so that latecomers could let themselves in? Anyway won’t be booking Le Petit Vatel again, or be using *********** for that matter either.

Wir wollten uns le Havre anschauen und sind total enttäuscht. Keine Lüftung, Aufzug oder sonstige 200 Euro Vergünstigungen. Hier wird die Not zum Reichtum gemacht. Weder das Hotel noch die Stadt ist eine Reise wert.

La chambre est un peu petite, côté fenêtre on frôle les rideaux pour sortir du lit. Nous avons trouvé une cétoine dorée, bien vivante, (un petit scarabée) sur la moquette au petit matin. Explication : après chaque départ de client, la Direction ouvre les fenêtres pour aérer, "le scarabée a dû entrer à ce moment-là". J'en doute un peu, vu que nous étions au troisième étage. Quelques bons points malgré tout : l'amabilité du personnel, et le coin détente au rez-de-chaussée où on peut se préparer une boisson chaude, voire travailler.

Aucune flexibilité. Nous avons réservé sur une plateforme en ligne en précisant que nous n'arriverions qu'à 21h15. A 19h nous avons appelé pour repréciser que nous arriverions à 21h15. L'hotelier nous a bien repréciser qu'il n'était pas possible d'arriver après 21h, même 15min. Il n'a également pas voulu annuler et nous rembourser notre chambre fraîchement réservée. Donc la chambre a été payée mais inoccupée Nous souhaitions faire travailler un petit hôtel particulier mais avons du nous rabattre sur une chaîne hotellière, plus flexible. Très déçu du manque de flexibilité et du non-remboursement.
