Hotel dekat Kedutaan Besar Belanda, Nairobi

I booked a 2-night stay over Saturday and Sunday while waiting for my 1am flight on Monday. I had just returned from a safari and was extremely tired, hoping to get some rest. Unfortunately, starting around 4am on Sunday, there was a lot of noise coming from the room directly in front of mine. It appeared to be a group occupying multiple rooms, shouting and moving between them. I called the lobby twice, and while the receptionist was kind and responsive in contacting the group, the noise continued, and I eventually gave up on trying to sleep. Later that afternoon, the tap and shower in my room stopped working. I had to call again to have it fixed, and even after it was restored, there was no hot water. I had a VERY cold shower. That said, I genuinely appreciated the food and the aesthetic of the property—the African artifacts in the hallways and the soaring ceilings made the place feel very special. It’s the kind of atmosphere I’d love to return to. However, because of the disruptions and inconvenience I experienced, I don’t think I’ll be coming back unless necessary.

Menginap dengan harga yang terjangkau tetapi dirusak oleh AC yang tidak efektif di kamar tidur. Kamar dengan pemandangan taman menghadap matahari yang berarti suhu kamar tetap di atas 26 derajat selama 48 jam kami menginap di sana. Baik Resepsionis maupun Pemeliharaan tidak dapat mengatasinya. Sayang sekali karena hal ini membuat kami tidak ingin menginap lagi.

The accomodation is absolutely top range and comfortable and the place has so much to offer. Unfortunately, it appears to be running on auto pilot or poor management. These are the things which really annoyed me: 1. Arriving at night, the signage is not well lit and we struggled to establish whether we had arrived at the right place, especially the security personnel at the gate were not being very helpful. They have never been given any training to help them understand that they are the first point of contact between guests and the residency. 2. We arrived on a ”Jazz Night” but, although I am a jazz lover, it should not be foreced upon everyone. The layout of the dining area is very poorly thought out. There was no maitre d'hotel or someone to direct us as to where we should go if we wanted to eat and not listen to music. Eventually we found someone to help us walk past the music area and squeeze past the tight space to go past th bar to the dining area. The whole layout is kind of back to front. The dining area should be more easily accessible and there needs to be a way to separate the main dining area without getting rid of the dining tables in the music area. 3. The dining area is exposed at the back and there was a strong could draught that night, because the rear part of the dining area is exposed to the elements.

Karena saya membutuhkan tempat tidur tambahan ketika saya punya bayi, saya terutama menyukai kamar deluxe, yang merupakan satu setengah kamar tidur dan memiliki area yang lebih luas. Padahal jendela kamar bagian dalam menghadap ke atrium, artinya tidak ada jendela dan tidak ada sinar matahari yang terlihat di dalam kamar. Kamar mandinya bau selokan, dan tidak ada saklar knalpot atau knalpotnya tidak terasa kuat . Tidak apa-apa untuk satu malam, dan saya harus mencobanya lain kali
