Lake Placid Stagecoach Inn

Our stay at the Stagecoach Inn was so so special. I have stayed in many hotels over the years for work and for leisure, and the Stagecoach Inn was such a beautiful place to rest our heads. It was a stay that showed me what real, heartfelt hospitality looks like which is so refreshing in the age of so many cookie-cutter hotels out there. The gorgeous little Inn feels historic yet new all at the same time. We were able to bring our two Australian shepherds, which is a dream! They were welcomed as warmly as we were, and the owner, Kelly, became their new favorite person after just two days. Heck, she became our favorite person, too! We spent a long June weekend away that felt like home. We loved having the beautiful trails of Henry’s Woods right outside our door — the dogs were spoiled by all of the exploring we could do without needing to drive anywhere. We left already wanting to come back. And we WILL be back for leaf peeping season! The restaurant absolutely lives up to the rave reviews — every dish was just THAT good. It’s hard to put your finger on why it’s so special; you’ll have to experience it yourself. Do yourself a favor and get it ALL. The apps, the entrees, the desserts, the cocktails -- if there was ever a place to splurge + have a "cheat day" it's the restaurant at Stagecoach Inn. I can see how much thought goes into creating their menus. Chef William was born to do what he does. You’re in for an incredible dining experience and a stay that’ll warm your soul!!

It was a delight to be the very first guests to stay in the Kate Smith Suite at the Lake Placid Stagecoach Inn. Recently purchased by Kelly Collins, this charming inn exudes Adirondack and Olympic history, layered with personal stories and unique touches throughout. We were immediately welcomed by Lily, the bartender, who offered an impressive selection of specialty cocktails and wines. With her thoughtful suggestions, we ordered our drinks and began a tour of the inn. Each of the four suites is cozy yet spacious, featuring modern amenities like Molton Brown toiletries, a mini fridge, and Smart TVs. A loft overlooking the thirty-person dining room—with its grand stone fireplace—is the perfect spot to enjoy a cocktail or play a game of backgammon. After drinks with friends, we were treated to one of the best meals we’ve had in the Adirondacks. We ordered several appetizers and salads to share among the three of us. The ingredients, sourced locally, were creatively prepared by Chef William Darrah. We especially loved the shaved Brussels sprout salad. Although we were fully satisfied from the meal, we couldn’t resist the “liquid dessert”: the Pumpkin Espresso. After a restful night’s sleep, we woke refreshed and headed out for a hike just a stone’s throw away. We will absolutely return to this gem of an inn and restaurant.
