The view from the ocean front room is spectacular.

How can you beat being right on the ocean!!!!! The hotel needs to be renovated!

All was okay at this older hotel for sleeping, nothing fancy, but right next to the beach SO GREAT LOCATION. There was only one problem ---it was absolutely freezing at night in our room, and our room had NO HEAT only a portable heater unit after I called the front desk. When I called in the middle of the night freezing, I thought they were joking when they said there was no heat for the room! I think he may have said some rooms have heat, others do not, but cannot remember for sure.

For the room with a see view I paid additional $120 , one night costed me $450, but I didn't find any water in the room , when I asked on front desk why I don't have any water in the room they told me : because of covid ... But they already don't where a masks )

Such an amazing property right in the heart of downtown Laguna Beach and on the sand. The standard room without an ocean vuew is quite expensive though for what it is and there is resort fees plus an extra 40 dollars to park your car in valet. Luckily I had a small credit from ******* to put towards the cost or I woulbt have probably not stayed there

The staff was amazing. I was a solo traveler and got food poisoning the first night in Laguna. The staff coordinated with my Uber grocery delivery and helped me stay in contact with my partner who was out of state. Above and beyond service. Thank you!

Pros: Great location and amazing views with perfect beach front access. The hotel has lounge chairs and umbrellas set up for guests so all you have to do is walk down and relax. Watched the sunset each night and got treated to a large pod of dolphins super close to shore. Snacks and drinks in room for fee. Clean bed and floors. Only cons: while the rooms have been updated fairly well, the bathrooms could use some help, chipped mirror, etc. Beds were a bit hard. Weirdly got woken up in the morning with manager and a fire inspector demanding to come in our room. We weren’t dressed and we had to get out of bed and dressed for them to come in. Seemed odd. Parking is 45$ per night. With that said, would stay again for the location.

Location, location, location! Can’t beat the location, this property is right on the beach and walking distance to everything Laguna Beach has to offer. I read a lot of reviews before my stay and it helped me know exactly what to expect, so I’m hoping to do the same for others. The resort is a collection of different buildings acquired over time. We booked an Ocean View Suite with Balcony. The booking was a little misleading because I thought we were booking Ocean Front. The room ended up being perfect though, located in the Bahia building. Clean with an excellent partially obstructed view of the ocean. The room was spacious and clean. The grounds staff work very hard and keep the property very clean. Security is excellent and helpful. The beach chairs were readily available. I would definitely book this room again. We loved this resort and even extended our stay. I would say it’s a perfectly slightly rundown beachfront paradise. I honestly hope they never renovate because I think the oldish charm is the only reason it’s able to be affordable. We loved The Deck and Driftwood oceanfront dining.

The staff were great and the room was clean. The think I did not like was the maze to my room and the parking situation. For the price I paid for the night…I would think that parking would be included.

Pros: You can't beat the location of this hotel -- very close to the heart of town and right along the beach. Easy 2 minute walk from the back building to the beach area where they will set up chaises, umbrellas, and provide towels for you. The room was very spacious overall and the beds were actually quite comfortable. Nice to have access to a kitchen, fridge, etc. Nice to have restaurants right on site and a supermarket just across the street. Cons - Kitchen and bathroom are very outdated. Electric coil stove, old cracked countertops. Bathroom was tiny. For a room that could accommodate 4+ people, you could barely fit one person in the bathroom at a time. Not all the light fixtures in the room worked. There is no self parking at the hotel -- only valet for $45 a night. We did manage to find metered street parking, which has no charge overnight from 7pm-8am. If you are there to enjoy the town and surroundings and don't care much about a totally modern and luxurious room, then it is a good pick.

The premier rooms do not have a “shared balcony” they are hallways in front of the rooms with a partial view of the ocean which everyone has access to because it’s just the hallway to get to your room. Our window inside the room was broken closed and the snacks in the room were literally half eaten. We enjoyed the beach access and comfortable bed.
