The Rectory Lacock Cottages

What a beautiful place. The Hosts are lovely amazing people. Really friendly and helpful. Our stay was faultless. The Room (Cedar) was impeccable. Some lovely touches with the refreshments . location is beautiful. You’re only a small drive away from what the county has to offer.

Totally unfair, rude and impolite I booked a room at 19.30pm, at 22pm of the same day I inform that with me there is a little baby of three years old. They answer me “you cannot book for children” “it is indeed your error” in a very rude way. I admit it is my fault and ask them to help me to cancel the reservation (I had take only 2 hours before…) They reject the request so I have to pay €230 but i can’t stay in the hotel. I stayed in their cosy wheeler cottage, on self catering basis for 4 nights that is set in beautiful grounds. I found it warm, clean and well equipped. The owners were excellent hosts, showing me into my cottage, walked me around and checked that I was happy with everything. Very impressed and will definitely return. What a fantastic find, The Rectory has only been open since last May, the owners Helen and Wyatt have spent several years refurbishing it to an extremely high standard, it’s their attention to detail which sets them above the average B&B. Set in beautiful grounds on the edge of Lacock, it is within a short walk from busy centre and is peaceful and relaxing. They are the perfect hosts, we were greeted on arrival and shown to our beautiful room, tastefully decorated with lovely views over the fields. After a long walk the superb shower was welcomed as were the tasty snack of crips and nuts plus great coffee. The following morning the breakfast did not disappoint served in their lovely dining room overlooking the garden, we were served freshly cooked food including eggs collected that morning by Wyatt from the local farm (you can’t get fresher than that). This is somewhere that we will be coming back to!

A wonderful restful B &B stay at newly restored heritage building ‘The Rectory’ in Lacock. Helen and Wyatt have thought of everything to make the stay comfortable and memorable. From the warm welcome, the very comfortable four poster beds, the garden views, to the fabulous breakfast - we enjoyed it all. Helen was a very helpful host who gave us lots of useful information and advice ahead of our arrival. We look forward to a return visit soon.

I stayed at this lovely location for a couple of months while I was starting a new role in the area. From the very first night I was impressed with the accommodation with regards to cleanliness and comfort, some would call the decor dated, however this is considered only if you are viewing it as a negative. It is in keeping with the rectories charming appeal. After the first week, staying in a B&B room, I was offered one of the estates 2 cottages, as my use of the location was to be prolonged. This too was delightful and offered all the comforts one could expect while living away from home in a studio type apartment. The proprietor was always welcoming, as were the dogs, particularly the young golden retriever, whom seem to wait for me to come home so we could play fetch. I would recommend this location to anybody who is looking for a clean, pleasant and value for money temporary stay either for business or leisure alike. The one observation I have it advertises on the hotel booking web site as a B&B and it is only a B.
