Miramar Surfcamp

Staff are great. Food is good. Room is clean. Beach is wonderful. Surfing instructor is the best. I dont really know how to swim but i was able to stand on the waves, great feeling. Drive to the airport is 2 hours which will be taken care of by the hotel. We went to the nearby church on Saturday by tuk-tuk, incredible experience!

I’ll be back! Numerous breaks all levels. Friendly staff. Great time getting to meet people from all over. Family atmosphere.. the camp even adopted a kitten while we were there! Good people all around. Had a great time thanks again !!!!!

I had a fantastic trip at Miramar. The staff was incredibly friendly and very interactive, everyone made an effort to know my name and talk to me. The food was very impressive, I did the all-inclusive package and originally worried about not having enough to eat since I was going to be surfing all day. That was not a problem at all, the portions were huge and the quality was very good. The themed dinner nights like pizza night, bbq night made dinners so fun too. I liked the open seating too, I was able to talk to other travelers or the staff at every meal I ate. The resort is beautiful, it sits on a cliff overlooking one of the main breaks. After I would finish surfing for the day, I would have a beer on the patio and watch the sunset along the Nicaraguan coast. The waves were just what I wanted, a solid 3-6 ft depending on the day and varied. There were beach breaks, point breaks, river mouth breaks etc. I got some of the best waves of my life. The on-site photographer and yoga instructor were also amazing. They provided fun activities like daily yoga or surf picture slide shows. I went home with some of the best waves of my life and some of the best surfing photos of my life. I can’t wait to return!

It's low on frills but high on warmth and welcome. I thoroughly enjoyed my week at Miramar, my first ever surf camp and first time in Nicaragua. Absolute beginner surfer, beginner package, solo traveler. Pros: Staff and guests are all so laid back and friendly; by the end of the week you're hugging everyone goodbye - wait staff, cooks, surf instructors +. Everything you need is there once you arrive - meals, boards, daily access to waves close and farther away via boat or tuktuk. No need to wander far from camp, not that there's much around. Food was delicious, with a fixed menu and daily lunch and dinner specials. They were happy to accommodate my vegan/dairy free diet, and I never felt like I was missing out or still hungry (except for desert...) International guests, multiple languages spoken around camp, great vibe. Pools are great - social area, good spot to cool off and watch the waves. Great A/C in all three rooms I stayed in during my stay (my fault for the room changes because of me changing dates) Great artwork throughout the camp and in the rooms So many hammocks - and plenty of hammock time They picked me up at the airport at 1:30am and handled that easily Cons: Limited infrastructure - plumbing has some kind of serious limitations, no hot water in guest rooms. Pretty thin sheets on the beds. Flies at mealtime. Lots of them. A stomach bug that went around - seemed to hit everyone staying there for 18-24 hours. Mild for me. Overall it was a really great time. I met interesting people from around the US other parts of the world, all of various ages and life experiences. I learned a lot about surfing, spent a lot of time in the water.

Everything here is amazing. I was there for 8 days to improve my surfing and the people that work there help you a lot. Great waves, great food and incredible staff and people. Rooms and accomodation also really good. Definitely coming back!!!!
