I felt the property did not live up to earlier TA reviews. There are positives, but the overall impression is not great. Decor needs a refresh, especially the en-suite which was clean but very tired. The tiling looks amateur. Excellent central location. Down a narrow alley off the main pedestrian street. Very quiet, though the interior walls are thin. Luckily, our neighbours settled down early. The owner was welcoming and informative. Our room was clean but basic. The AC is excellent. WiFi is very good. There was a fridge in the room. There was a safe too, but it was small. And it was not secured to anything! So I didn’t use it and instead I had to carry credit cards and passports everywhere. The property is described as a “boutique hotel”. But it doesn’t serve breakfast and there isn’t 24 hour reception. We would not return.

This is a small, quirky in an artistic kind of way, hotel that requires some minor maintenance here and there. However, it is comfortable and in a great location right in the heart of La Spezia. Reception closes each afternoon and the guests are then on their own. However, during opening hours, Anna is always on hand and is extremely pleasant and helpful. When our boat cruise to the Cinque Terre was cancelled due to rough seas, she established that the public ferries were still operating and explained how we could tour the Cinque Terre using them. Since this was our main reason for visiting La Spezia we were extremely grateful. Anna also recommended restaurants and cafes to visit. Continental breakfast was adequate with a great supply of tea and coffee.

Small friendly hotel in the heart of La Spezia with a lot of personality. The rooms were ok and met the expectations. Very informative and friendly staff which made us feel very welcome. The location in the central La Spezia was perfect, central but yet very private.

Great boutique hotel right in the heart of La Spezia. Close to the train station and Ferry to access the beautiful Ligurian Coast, including the Cinque Terre. The hotel has an art feel to it, spacious rooms, decorated in white and grey. Breakfast quality was excellent, with organic produce, fruits and delicious yoghurt and jams made locally. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Thank you Gugli and the team for making our stay so special. We will return! Kim and Sandra

From the moment we arrived Anna looked after us - such a lovely girl - so helpful and friendly. She advised us re where to go and how to visit the Cinques Terres and recommended and booked a restaurant for us whcih wasn't too 'touristy'. When she checked us in and looked at our passports , she spotted that it was my husband's birthday and arranged for some lovely sweet treats (cakes) for him and put them in the fridge for when we returned to the room that day. The room was beautifully clean and the bed was comfy and the breakfast was nice with good coffee made by Mary in the morning. I would 100% recommend this hotel, hidden away yet situated conveniently in the heart of La Spezia. Thank you, Anna - hope to bump into you in Brighton one day!

The hotel is located in a great area of La Spezia with walking access to the harbor, train station and city center. The room was good size and bright and clean. The bathroom was fully equipped. Nice home-made daily breakfast buffet. Staff very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to help. We will stay there again. It is a short walk from the train station but it is hidden off the main street so pay attention to the directions. As far as location, you can't get better location in La Spezia. We will stay there again.

Lovely little hotel, small but perfectly formed room with most importantly a very comfy bed and a great shower (h and breakfast was spot on also) What sets this place apart though is the friendliness of all the staff. They put up with my faltering italian as we chatted about all sorts of things. Recommend

Very friendly staff, good value for money. The selection for breakfast is perfect for a small hotel like this. Also a perfect location near both train station, shopping street and the seaside where you can access the boats and buses. Minus for no ventilation in room and bathroom. Not very well insulated, but expected I guess due to an old building.
