Great experience with tatami style room! Very traditional Japanese room

氛圍感拉滿的京都感覺。 住了兩晚，暴走京都，因為所有的景點都在步行15分鐘-20分鐘之內，對於想好好體驗古城感覺的人來講，再合適不過了！ 唯一不足的是，隔音效果不太好，如果睡眠淺的人，要注意這一點，但是一般讓前台提醒一下，也會控制好。

A well-run hotel with spacious rooms in a quiet, appealing neighborhood within walking distance of the subway. Very helpful staff -- I arrived after the doors had closed for the night and the receptionist stayed late to let me in with kindness. Spotless laundry machines and both Japanese and Western rooms available.

Great staff, really nice and helpful. Very clean and traditional. Perfect area for eating and shopping. Walking distance to nishiki market, the goon district, yasaka pagoda. The staff really makes you feel welcomed .

This is a very nice hotel, tucked away down the backstreets. It’s nice and clean, with friendly staff on the front desk. The rooms are modest size, but typical of Japanese hotel rooms. The rooms are nice and clean, and modern. The rooms aren’t restocked every day, although towels are changed. So two sachets of coffee for the length of your stay. The rooms are fairly quiet, but you can hear noise from other rooms. There are a couple of washing machines and driers for free use, and they were really useful. I would stay at this hotel again.

We were at the Machiya Ebisuya for 2 weeks and LOVED our stay. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. In fact, on the morning we were leaving we were supposed to take a train for the airport. We found that the train was canceled because of a typhoon! The staff were calm and arranged a bus, a taxi and gave us (we were a bit rattled!) explicit instructions about the details of our detour. They were absolutely wonderful, efficient, and kind! We will return there! Also the hotel is immaculate, comfortable, and although in a quiet neighborhood, close to everything! We loved it!

We booked a Japanese style room and loved it. It was quite large, with pretty of space to store clothes. Both futons were equipped with lovely bed linen and fluffy duvets, the aircon worked well and the bathroom was great. The hotel has a clean, restful design and we appreciated the laundry room. The only disappointment was that breakfast was a fixed menu with no options. The location was lovely, on a typical Kyoto street with little traffic but close to lots of restaurants and with most attractions close by.

We stayed here in Mar 2023 for 5 nights - we love it. We stayed in the Quad Deluxe Room which had sufficient space for the 3 of us. It was spacious, there are modern room amenities (dimmable lights, USB sockets, drip coffee, safe) and a separate tatami section (separable with sliding doors) which they placed additional tatami beds. The rooms were clean though the room cleaning wasn't the most consistent. Love the pillow and beds i.e they weren't too soft. In terms of the hotel amenities, what really stood out for us is that they provided 2 washers and 2 dryers for free, located on the ground floor. Another nice touch is a lounge-work area in the annex building that we could hang out in. Walkability The hotel is about 30mins walk to South Higashima where the Kiyomizu-dera temple is located, 20mins walk to Nishiki Market, 25mins walk to the Kyoto Station, 10mins walk from the Shijo Station.

Well designed room, very comfortable. Nice to have refrigerator, microwave and kettle. The bathroom is small but very efficient - needs hooks for towels. The complimentary use of washer/dryer on the first floor was a real treat. Easy walking to public transportation and areas of interest. A grocery and 7-11 are close by as well. The staff are wonderful, all professional and helpful.

I often stay here when I am in Kyoto. I love it, and can't imagine staying anywhere else! The location is perfect for me; it's not far from Kawaramachi and Gion, but is in a quiet neighbourhood. It's possible to walk to Kiyomizu temple and other attractions.
