Hotel is conveniently located close to Umekoji train station, with the Umekoji park next to it. Hotel is spacious with plenty of communal space for family activities. Great place for family to chill out for a few days whilst exploring the greater Kyoto area.

At a very quiet neighbourhood, and surrounded by tourist attraction like railway museum and aquarium.

A nice place in Kyoto, drive distance close to 嵐山. The hotel with coffee self make area, reading book relax area which is so comfy and feel good.

A wonderful hotel that so close to the Umekoji kyotonishi station (5mins walking distant), love the view of our room that facing the park surrounded by greenery and the signature To ji tempo there. The room is spacious with a sofa and a balcony that can enjoy the breakfast there. This hotel provides lots of facilities like public hot spring, free beer, drinks and snacks! Staffs here are polite and helpful!! The only thing that can be improved is the TV there is not a smart TV, if Apple TV can be implemented then would be perfect.

Lovely grounds and nice hotel. We enjoyed the view of the gardens. Do note that some rooms have no showers, but the one we booked had a shower, no bathtub. Right next to the aquarium. Very walkable to train and bus stations.

I was amazed by the complimentary snacks (e.g. chocolate, pineapple, smoked cheese sweets), coffee (DIY from grinding beans to pouring the hot water over the powder ground from the beans), alcohol (red and white wines, asahi beer, sour beer, highball) and juices/tea available at levels 2 and 3 of the building! Water is available at every floor from the water dispenser (same goes for ice). It seems to be a family-friendly hotel as I observed so, with amenities such as table tennis table, play/games areas, and reading area at the same levels 2 and 3 of the building; there were many happy kids around too. The park view was great, though I did not use the balcony. Rooftop terrace had great views of kyoto, giving a glimpse of the kyoto tower and one of the pagoda temples. Thankfully the laundromat is on the same level 5 as my room so I can quickly use it and collect clothes when done. Nonetheless the TVs in the room could show the status of the three machines. There was unfortunately one incidence where one person did not clear his/her clothes in time and there was a queue starting. Level 1 is the bath house, which is complimentary for hotel guests but chargeable for public; not crowded for men. The service staff were friendly from check in to check out of the hotel. The bus stops and train station are walkable from the hotel. There are convenience stores nearby too. I think the only downsides are that the glasses in the room are a tad small so one cannot fill much water, and the toothpaste is too little, which I finished in two brushes (morning and night). Maybe the hotel can consider expanding the capacities for both the glasses and toothpastes?

Very Good location, within 5mins walk to JR station and train museum and Kyoto Aquarium . Just next to umekoji park . Our room is facing the park, so we can enjoy our after tea at the balcony with relaxing view. Amenities is awesome with board game, food, books in public area, they also have a music room to enjoy music The room is spacious, definitely recommended for family trip

Hotel Staff was extremely helpful to explain the amenities in this hotel (which there were a great many). Also, you can get the concierge to help reserve restaurants in advance. The location is superb, bed was soft and comfortable. We had a pleasant 3 nights and will definitely come back again if we're passing by Kyoto!

It’s a very nice hotel to relax in Japan especially after a few hectic days in Tokyo or Osaka..the staff at reception were very helpful.
