We stayed at Higashiyama Shikikaboku for 2 nights for our honeymoon and had a brilliant experience. The hotel is in a nice quiet part of Kyoto, which felt calming against the rush of the city. The hotel very kindly upgraded us for our honeymoon, and the room was incredible. Spacious, beautifully decorated and one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in! We only wish we didn’t have so much planned for the days as we would have happily spent hours relaxing in there. Every staff member we met with was incredibly helpful and friendly. They gave us lots of food recommendations as well as booking various things for us. My birthday falls soon after our stay, and when we left the team on reception presented me with a happy birthday card and small gift. This was very thoughtful and unexpected given we hadn’t explicitly told them this. Would not hesitate to stay here again or to recommend to friends. Thank you team for such a lovely stay.
